Xolo Maridueña has begun filming the upcoming Blue Beetle movie and was seen in costume on Wednesday (May 25) in Atlanta, Ga.
The 20-year-old Cobra Kai star is taking on the role of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in the upcoming DC Comics film.
Angel Manuel Soto is directing the feature, which is focusing on the 2006 version of the character.
If you don’t know, his powers come from a mysterious scarab that binds to Reyes’ spine and provides him with a powerful suit of armor around his body.
Just a couple of months ago, Xolo shared that he hadn’t even tried on the suit yet.
“All I can think about is how exciting it’s going to be,” he told Teen Vogue. “It’s going to touch on a lot of things that haven’t been touched on before in superhero movies…. I haven’t had the chance to put on the suit yet or anything like that. Once it happens, it’ll feel real.”
