Charlie Murphy is one of the entertainers who was left out of the 2017 Emmy Awards‘ In Memoriam segment and now his rep is speaking out about the omission.

The late comedian passed away in April at the young age of 57 and producers for the Emmys reached out to Charlie‘s team to obtain photos to include in the In Memoriam package.

When the segment aired on Sunday night (September 17), Charlie was no where to be seen.

“I am very disappointed that Charlie was left out of the Primetime Emmy Awards last night,” his rep Domenick Nati told JustJared.com in a statement. “Charlie has millions of fans who were expecting him to be honored for his life and work in film and television and it never came. I hope the Emmy producers can find some way to still honor him with the photos I sent them.”

Charlie Murphy‘s family is in mourning.

His brother Eddie and the family just released a statement following his death.

“Our hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle and friend Charlie,” the family shared in a statement to JustJared.com. “Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed.”

The statement continued, “Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and prayers. We respectfully ask for privacy during this time of great loss for all of us.”

Charlie Murphy tragically passed away at the age of 57 after a battle with leukemia.

Since the news broke just moments ago, celebrities have been taking to social media to mourn the comedian. If you didn’t know, Charlie is the brother of fellow comedian Eddie Murphy.

Celebrities including Chris Rock, Gabrielle Union, Bow Wow, and more sent their condolences and shock after the news broke.

Charlie Murphy has passed away at the age of 57 after battling leukemia.

The 57-year-old entertainer was a successful stand up comedian who notably co-starred on the Chappelle Show. He also co-wrote some of his brother Eddie Murphy‘s movies, and appeared in Are We There Yet, The Boondocks and Black Jesus.

Charlie passed away in a New York City hospital. He recently toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley.

Charlie left behind three children. His wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, passed away in 2009 from cancer.
