Ben McKenzie falls to the floor as his co-star Donal Logue aims his gun on the set of Gotham on Wednesday (March 26) in New York City.

Brand new character portraits were just released of many of the cast members, which include first look images of Donal as Det. Harvey Bullock, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (aka The Penguin), Carmen Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, and of course, Ben as a young Jim Gordon.

Gotham is a prequel to the Batman series, and will air on Fox in the 2014-15 television season.

Ben McKenzie films more scenes for his new series Gotham on Thursday (March 20) in New York City.

The 35-year-old actor was seen filming alongside his co-star Donal Logue, who was involved in a fight scene that afternoon. We’re so excited to see more superhero shows on television!

Gotham is a crime drama that explores the origin stories of eventual Police Commissioner James Gordon (McKenzie) and the rogues’ gallery of villains that made the city infamous. Jim Gordon’s partner and mentor, the rough-around-the-edges Detective Harvey Bullock (Logue) plays loose with police procedure, but gets results – and he does so with old-school, hard-ass panache.
