Dustin Diamond (aka Screech) Wasn't Invited to the 'Saved By the Bell' Reunion

Earlier this month, Jimmy Fallon reunited the leads from Saved By the Bell for a hilarious reunion sketch – but many wondered why Dustin Diamond (aka Screech) wasn’t involved.

Turns out, the 38-year-old actor wasn’t invited to participate. Dustin said he found out a few days before, when a friend of his girlfriend’s texted him about it.

“It would have been fun, but I don’t see it as a personal insult,” Dustin told Fox. “Here’s the way I look at it. I walk a very honest and humble path, and I know what kind of person I am. I’m very comfortable where I fit in life. I want to have a family. I want to have kids and I want to raise them right. I’m playing comedy clubs. I’m not rich, but I make a living. I’ve tripped and fallen many times in my life. If you don’t, how do you learn?”

Five of the cast members – Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, and Dennis Haskins – were able to make it onto the show for the hilarious skit.

Also missing from the reunion was Lark Voorhies, whose rep said she could not attend due to a heavy work schedule.

Where is Screech?! Dustin Diamond Misses 'Saved By the Bell' Reunion

Dustin Diamond was noticeably missing when the cast of Saved By the Bell reunited for a special skit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (February 4) in Los Angeles.

Five of the cast members – Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, and Dennis Haskins – got back into character and onto the Bayside High set for a fun new skit.

Dustin, who played the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers in the 90s sitcom, has had some legal trouble lately, which may have led to his absence. He was arrested back in December for allegedly stabbing a man, which actually happened days after he did a Saved By the Bell spoof.

Also missing from the reunion was Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle and was Screech’s love interest.
