Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt in the brand new installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

In the new movie, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. Hannah Waddingham has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 8!

On Friday (March 10), it was announced that the 48-year-old Emmy-winning Ted Lasso actress had been cast opposite Tom Cruise in next summer’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.

Christopher McQuarrie, the writer and director of the two Dead Reckoning movies, revealed Hannah‘s casting on social media with a cryptic tease.

The upcoming movies Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 have both been given new release dates.

Tom Cruise began filming the movies in early 2020, just as COVID-19 began to spread around the world, which disrupted the production.

MI7 previously had released dates of July 23, 2021, November 19, 2021, May 27, 2022, and September 30, 2022.

Filming has finally wrapped on Mission: Impossible 7 after more than a year of filming.

Director Christopher McQuarrie took to his Instagram account on Saturday (September 11) to mark the end of filming.

Christopher shared a photo of himself and star Tom Cruise along with a message for the film’s cast and crew.

“All you need is good people,” he wrote. “To our indomitable, unstoppable, unrelenting cast and crew: Even under the best of circumstances, it should have been impossible. Even having seen it, we can’t believe what you’ve achieved. Words can never adequately express our gratitude and admiration – not only to you, but to your loved ones. You are the best in the world.”

Production on the movie spanned across Italy, Norway, and England. The shoot was extra challenging because of the COVID-19 pandemic and we have photos of Tom filming one of his final stunts for the movie.
