Nik Wallenda attempts a high-wire walk across an active volcano!

The 41-year-old acrobat successfully completed the tightrope walk across the Masaya Volcano in in Nicaragua.

His stunt was shown during the Volcano Live! special hosted by The Bachelor‘s Chris Harrison, which aired on Wednesday (March 4) on ABC.

Nik is now the first person to complete the 1,800-foot trek over the noxious volcano, and he did it in 31 minutes with just a gas mask and a harness. It marks his longest and highest walk to date.

His wife Erendira also did an aerial performance above the volcano.

“It’s not as though, like last week I was like, ‘Hey, let’s do this,’ ” Nik Wallenda told People. “This is to hopefully inspire people, and encourage people to constantly push themselves … and that’s really what it’s about. In order to do that I’ve got to continue to push myself, and that’s why I choose locations like this. I’m challenging myself to be better.”

The Flying Wallendas Will Cross Times Square in NYC on a High Wire!

Nik Wallenda and Lijana Wallenda, the brother-sister duo from circus stunt family The Flying Wallendas, will cross a high wire 25 stories above the ground across skyscrapers in Times Square.

The event will be streamed live at 8 p.m. ET on ABC on Sunday (June 23).

This is Lijana‘s first time joining her brother since her nearly fatal accident in 2017, when she broke nearly every bone in her face while attempting an eight-person pyramid stunt during a Circus Sarasota rehearsal. She has been recovering ever since.

The two will walk from opposite ends of a 1,300-foot wire suspended between skyscrapers, crossing each other in the middle, if all goes according to plan.

They will also be wearing tethered safety harnesses, which are required by the city, in case they fall.

“In this situation especially, with my sister involved, I do feel like it’s very important. With everything that she’s gone through, and that near-fatal accident that she went through a couple years ago that we were all involved in, I just think it’s important,” said Nik to The Wrap.

Nik Wallenda: Skywire Tightrope Walk Across Grand Canyon (Video)

Nik Wallenda risks his life by walking on a tightrope across the Grand Canyon during a live television special aired on the Discovery Channel on Sunday (June 23) in Arizona.

The 34-year-old adventure seeker walked a distance of a quarter mile at a height of 1,500 feet above ground. The “Skywire” walk took him just over 22 minutes to complete.

“It was way more windy, and it took every bit of me to stay focused the entire time,” Nik explained after the walk was over, saying the winds caused dust to accumulate on his contact lenses.
