Normani and Ashanti were two of the big winners at the 2021 Soul Train Awards!

The two entertainers both took home awards during the show held on Saturday (November 20) at Apollo Theater in New York City.

During the show, Normani took home the Video of the Year award for her song “Wild Side” with Cardi B while Ashanti was honored with the Lady of Soul Award for her contributions to the music industry.

Later in the show, Ashanti returned to the stage for a performance with Fat Joe.

Other stars in attendance include 21 Savage, Paula Patton, Leon Bridges, Jazmine Sullivan, and Tisha Campbell.

FYI: Ashanti is wearing a Christian Siriano gown on the red carpet. 21 Savage is wearing a Jacquemus suit.

Normani is speaking out about the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Wild Side” entertainer shared a post from her choreographer Sean Bankhead sharing behind-the-scenes drama from the event.

“but you’re really gonna learn that God don’t play about me,” Normani captioned the post.

“Whew. I never posted about this performance…tbh it was traumatic as f–k everything that could have gone wrong did,” he wrote.

“Not to mention we had a WEEK to pull off something overly ambitious, the enemy was truly trying to attack Normani and team down to things STILL going wrong the day of the show. to the point where I personally had to redo and fix the screen content hours before we went live and to be honest, as much of a spectacle we wanted to put on and ALL the ideas we had a simple red and white screen and a
clear box is ALL Normani needs to STILL steal the show,” he continued.

“I watched this performance for the first time the other night for what it WAS instead of what we EXPECTED…and I was like…damn this s–t is actually kinda epic and clean as f–k. the producers and directors even said it was the best choreography and dancers on the entire show…why not just let the screens be clean to highlight that?” he continued.

“I’m so proud of you kid and I’m sure one day we will tell how traumatic this moment was and you still got on that stage you f–king beast Normani,” he added.

Normani reigns supreme!

The 25-year-old “Wild Side” superstar showcased a gorgeous look at the 2021 Met Gala on Monday (September 13) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The annual Costume Institute Gala is the fashion world’s equivalent of the Oscars and the event is usually held on the first Monday of May, but it was postponed until September 2021 due to the pandemic. The theme this year is “In America” and there will be a two-part exhibit with the second part debuting at next year’s Met Gala.

Normani is hitting the red carpet!

The 25-year-old “Wild Side” superstar was spotted arriving at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (September 12) at the Barclays Center in New York City.

She stepped out in a matching white set that featured cropped jacket with dramatic cuffs and a popped collar.

It was announced that Normani would be performing at the show earlier this week after fans campaigned for the award show to add her to the lineup.

She previously performed her hit single “Motivation” at the show in 2019, where she took home the award for Best R&B.
