Good Morning America‘s Lara Spencer made such a huge goof this morning on the morning show, it made Shonda Rhimes spit out her morning coffee!

While showing a photo of the Scandal cast returning to work on social media, Lara said, “A little bittersweet however, because it has been said that this is also going to be the final season.”

Luckily, Shonda quickly responded on Twitter saying that is not true!

“Whoa, @GMA: I never said this was the final season of #scandal. Way to make me spit out my coffee!,” Shonda wrote.

Lara quickly responded on air, saying, “We said that this was the last season of Scandal. Shonda has weighed in, she just tweeted, and she said we made her spit out her coffee. My apologies. She said she has an ending in mind, but that ending is not happening this next season. So, thank you, Shonda…. We can all breathe, because as you guys know, it is my absolute favorite show. So correction: Ending in mind, but when that ending is happening we don’t know. So, to be continued on the Scandal scandal. More Scandal. So Shonda, thank you, I’m sorry I made you spit out your coffee.”

“Thank you for the correction, @LaraSpencer — you have my back!❤️” Shonda added after.

The actors were joined by their co-stars Bellamy Young, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, and Jeff Perry, along with series creator Shonda Rhimes.

It was just announced that Kerry has signed a development deal with ABC Studios to develop broadcast, cable, and digital projects under her production company Simpson Street.

“I believe strongly in the importance of having a seat at the table, which makes starting this production company thrilling for me,” Kerry said in a statement (via Deadline). “It’s an honor to be at a point in my career when I can help generate projects that that are exciting, necessary and truly reflect the world around us. Tony Goldwyn shows off his ripped physique while going shirtless on a recent episode of his ABC series Scandal.

The 55-year-old actor has been stripping down a lot lately on the show as his character President Fitz is enjoying the single life these days.

Tony recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the host suggested that his character join Tinder.

“I don’t see why not,” Tony said. “He would get so many hits on Tinder, can you imagine? I’m gonna talk to Shonda [Rhimes] about that.”

Kerry Washington looks stunning as she attends an event for her upcoming HBO movie Confirmation held during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday (January 23) in Park City, UT.

The 38-year-old actress stars as Anita Hill, the former assistant of Clarence Thomas, who testified against him for sexual harassment at his 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings.

The short teaser shows Jake (Scott Foley) telling Olivia that he doesn’t want to wait for her, and she says “then don’t.” Then they make out. Watch below!

In the teaser, the 38-year-old actress ditches her iconic white hat and trades it for a bold red trench coat.

The season five trailer for Scandal is here and it’s super steamy and even includes a shocking moment!

The 30 second clip starts with Kerry Washington‘s Olivia Pope and Tony Goldwyn‘s President Fitzgerald Grant in bed together making love to each other.

We then see Fitz hand Mellie (Bellamy Young) with divorce papers!

The upcoming fifth season of Scandal debuts on Thursday, September 24 at 9pm on ABC and we sure will be tuning in.
