Shannen Doherty Remembers 'Our House' Co-star Wilford Brimley After His Death

Shannen Doherty is paying tribute to Wilford Brimley, who she starred with on Our House.

The 49-year-old actress remembered Wilford as “a grandpa” after playing his on-screen grandaughter on the late 1980s television series.

“I met Wilford when we did Our House together. He taught me a lot on that show,” she wrote on Instagram with a black and white image from the show. “He also gave me a horse named Brownie. Taught me how to ski in Utah. Had two African Grey’s that would curse and call his dogs only to laugh at them when they came running. He gave big hugs and told great jokes.”

Shannen added that “we was in fact like a grandpa to me for a very long time. He was talented and will be missed.”

Wilford passed away on Saturday (August 1) at his home in Utah, at the age of 85.

Shannen Doherty Says She's 'Dying of Stage 4 Terminal Cancer'

Court documents have revealed that Beverly Hills 90210′s Shannen Doherty is battling terminal cancer.

The 48-year-old actress just revealed that her cancer had returned after going into remission in 2017. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

In court documents filed by Shannen‘s lawyers against State Farm Insurance, Shannen explained that she is terminal.

“She is dying of stage 4 terminal cancer,” the court documents read. “Instead of living out her remaining years peacefully in her home, Ms. Doherty remains displaced and battling with her insurance company.”

Shannen‘s home was damaged in last year’s Woolsey fire in California, and she’s attempting to get the insurance company to pay what they allegedly owe to repair the damage. Our continued thoughts are with Shannen and her loved ones.

Since being diagnosed, Shannen has been extremely open about talking about her diagnosis.

Shannen Doherty Reveals Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

Shannen Doherty‘s cancer has returned, and it’s stage four.

“It’s going to come out in a matter of days or a week that I have stage 4,” Shannen shared during an appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday (February 4). “So my cancer came back and that’s why I’m here.”

The Beverly Hills 90210 star was diagnosed over a year ago after being in remission since 2017. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

“I’d rather people hear it from me. I don’t want it to be twisted, a court document. I want it to be real and authentic. I want to control the narrative. I want people to know from me,” she continued. Shannen is currently in the middle of a legal battle with insurance company State Farm over damage to her home from the California wildfires.

“It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways,” Shannen said about the diagnosis. “I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’ And then I go, ‘Well why not me? Who else? Who else beside me deserves this?’ None of us do. I would say that my first reaction is always concern about how am I going to tell my mom, my husband.”

Shannen was also asked about the sudden death of her 90210 co-star Luke Perry, and her reaction was, “Why wasn’t it me? It was so weird for me to be diagnosed and then somebody who was seemingly healthy to go first.”

Our thoughts are with Shannen Doherty and her loved ones during this difficult time.

Shannen Doherty Opens Up About Learning to Love Her Body Post-Breast Cancer

Shannen Doherty is getting candid about life after surviving breast cancer.

The 48-year-old BH9010 actress, who completed her cancer treatment in 2017 and underwent reconstruction in 2018, opened up about the process of loving her body again in an interview with People.

“I don’t think you’re ever on the other side [of cancer]. I don’t think about the fact that I’m in remission. I look at it like I’m lucky to be alive every minute, every second of the day,” she said.

“I really took good care of myself, and I came out of it in as good of condition I think somebody [in my situation] could be in. But the funny thing with cancer is that once you’re no longer on chemo or radiation, people think you’re fine, that you bounce back. But what they don’t realize is that your body has been through something so incredibly difficult that your body never fully bounces back.”

“I’m exhausted. And I’m really terrible with self-care. When I‘m at work, I have a tunnel vision mentality,” she said of filming BH90210.

“I’m trying to figure out how to accept who I am now. I’m never going to be the size I used to be. Some of my meds that I’m on keep zapping the collagen out of me, so I’m never going to have a wrinkle-free face. I’m critical of myself. But there are some things you can’t fight…I’m trying to be kinder to myself. And I try to live each day as an amazing, precious gift that I’ve been given.”
