Sony Pictures just released a statement confirming that their controversial Seth Rogen and James Franco movie The Interview will hit theaters on Christmas Day.

“We have never given up on releasing The Interview and we’re excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day,” Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment in a statement. “At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience.”

Here’s just some of the theaters that you can check out The Interview on Christmas Day if you want to see the film!

'The Interview' To Play Select Theaters on Christmas Day, Will Be Available Via VOD

In the latest update from the major Sony hack designed to shut down The Interview, Sony is now allowing several theaters to screen the movie on Christmas day.

Two independent movie theaters, the Plaza Atlanta theater and Alamo Drafthouse, announced the news on Twitter after many major movie houses said last week that they would not be showing the controversial film after terror threats came through.

THR is also reporting that Sony will offer the film as a VOD option so it can be available to the greater public.

The Interview stars James Franco and Seth Rogen, and was originally scheduled to be released on Christmas Day before the major hack shut the operation down.

Amy Adams Gets Booted from 'Today' Show Because She Didn't Want to Discuss the Sony Hack

Amy Adams was booted from The Today Show on Monday morning (December 22) because she didn’t want to discuss the Sony hack, sources confirm to JustJared.com.

The Big Eyes actress was in New York City this weekend to host Saturday Night Live and stayed in town for an extra day to make the morning show appearance to promote her movie.

Before heading to the studio, her team was informed that she would be asked about the Sony hack and then she was told again upon arrival. Amy asked the producer if they could avoid the subject, but they insisted that “Today is a news organization” and she was told no one can dictate their interviews, according to Deadline.

Amy let it go and prepared to answer the question during the interview, but right before she was set to go on air, the segment was pulled, effectively wasting her time.

While Amy‘s salary for the movie American Hustle was part of the leaked documents, she has no ties to the hacking scandal or the movie The Interview.

Amy‘s reps couldn’t be reached for comment at this time.

U.S. Asks China For Help on Sony Hack

It has just been reported that the Obama administration is seeking help from China on the Sony hacking scandal!

“What we are looking for is a blocking action, something that would cripple their efforts to carry out attacks,” an official shared to the New York Times.

China‘s support would be very important since almost all of North Korea’s wireless communications operate through Chinese networks.

It is unclear if China will help, given the recent tensions over computer security between Washington and Beijing. In May, five hackers, working for the Chinese military, were indicted on charges of stealing sensitive information from American companies.

In case you didn’t read, the FBI has confirmed that North Korea is behind the cyber attacks on Sony Studios.

Sony Hackers Mock FBI Investigation in Latest Email

The Sony hackers just sent a new email to mock the FBI for their investigation on the hacking scandal.

“The result of investigation by FBI is so excellent that you might have seen what we were doing with your own eyes,” the hackers wrote in an email to journalists on early Saturday (December 20) after FBI confirmed North Korea’s involvement in the hack. “We congratulate you success. FBI is the BEST in the world.”

In the email, the hackers also included a Youtube link, which criticized investigators and included writing in a foreign language.

The day before, the hackers sent out an email to celebrate their victory after Sony decided to pull the plug on The Interview‘s Christmas release.

'The Interview' Facebook & Twitter Accounts Deleted After Movie Release Cancelled

Two social media accounts for The Interview have just been deleted after the film’s release was cancelled by Sony earlier this week.

It is unclear if Sony had made the decision to remove the Facebook and Twitter accounts or if hackers had disabled them themselves.

Before the Facebook account was deleted, the movie had more than 366,000 followers, while the film’s Twitter page (@TheInterview) had 35,100 followers. Currently, the Twitter account says, “@TheInterview hasn’t tweeted yet,” which indicates that the account is inactive.

North Korea Says They Are Not Responsible For Sony Hack, Wants Joint Probe Investigation

North Korea wants to propose a probe investigation with the U.S. into the Sony hacking attack to prove they had nothing to do with the scandal.

This comes after the FBI confirmed that the country was behind the attack on Sony Pictures.

“The U.S. should bear in mind that it will face serious consequences in case it rejects our proposal for joint investigation and presses for what it called countermeasures while finding fault with” North Korea, a spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesperson added, “We have a way to prove that we have nothing to do with the case without resorting to torture, as the CIA does.”
