Sterling K. Brown & Susan Kelechi Watson Call Out HFPA's Lack of Black Representation at Golden Globes 2021

Sterling K. Brown and Susan Kelechi Watson are addressing the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s lack of diversity.

The This Is Us stars took to the stage during the 2021 Golden Globes held at The Beverly Hilton on Sunday (February 28) in Beverly Hills, Calif. where they poked some fun at the HFPA’s controversy.

A few days before the awards show, it was revealed that the organization does not include a single black member.

“It’s good to be Black at the Golden Globes…er…back, back at the Golden Globes,” Sterling said on stage.

“It’s great to be black anywhere!” Susan responded.

Golden Globes 2021 - Additional Presenters Revealed!

There are new presenters being added to the 2021 Golden Globes ceremony!

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dick Clark Productions and NBC confirmed a group of presenters being added to this year’s awards show on Friday (February 19).

Kevin Bacon, Sterling K. Brown, Michael Douglas, Kyra Sedgwick, Susan Kelechi Watson and Catherine Zeta-Jones will all serve as presenters at this year’s event.

Michael and Catherine will take the stage together to present from The Rainbow Room in New York, while Kevin and Kyra , as well as Sterling and Susan, will present from The Beverly Hilton Ballroom in Los Angeles.

The pairs will join previously announced presenters Awkwafina, Cynthia Erivo, Annie Mumolo, Joaquin Phoenix, Kristen Wiig, and Renee Zellweger.

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Tina Fey from the Rainbow Room in New York and Amy Poehler from The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and will air live coast to coast on Sunday (February 28) from 8-11 p.m. ET on NBC and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. The 'West Wing' Reunion Special Has a New Trailer - Watch Now!

The cast of The West Wing has reunited for a special that will debut on HBO Max next week, with weeks to go until the general election.

The special marks the first time in 17 years that the original cast has reunited with creator Aaron Sorkin. They got together to reenact the “Hartsfield’s Landing” episode from season three on a theatrical stage.

The West Wing stars Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Rob Lowe, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, and Martin Sheen will reprise their roles from the episode. Sterling K. Brown will be playing Leo McGarry, the role played by the late John Spencer.

The creative team and cast organized this historic production in order to raise awareness for and support the vital mission of When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization co-chaired by Michelle Obama which was founded to increase participation in every election in America. In honor of the special, WarnerMedia will make a donation to When We All Vote.

The special will debut eon HBO Max on October 15.

The cast of The West Wing is together again!

Rob Lowe, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford, Martin Sheen, Janel Moloney, and Richard Schiff were all seen arriving at the reunion special taping on Friday (September 18) in Los Angeles.

Also photographed arriving at the taping was Sterling K. Brown, who will have a new role in the special.

Not seen arriving at the taping was Dulé Hill, but he will be a part of the reunion.

The cast will appear for the theatrical stage presentation of Season 3 episode “Hartsfield’s Landing” with director and executive producer Thomas Schlamme for the special, plus guest appearances and a message from the former first lady, Michelle Obama.

The episode first aired in February of 2002, and features President Bartlet (Sheen) engaging Sam (Lowe) and Toby (Schiff) in chess games that mirror his brinksmanship with the Chinese government; Josh (Whitford) sweating the results of primary voting in a tiny New Hampshire town; and C.J. (Janney) and Charlie (Hill) facing off in a prank war.

A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote will air on HBO Max on October 15. The special is a benefit for When We All Vote, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that aims to increase voter participation.

'Friends' Fans Loved Everything About the All-Black Cast Reading on 'Zoom Where It Happens'

Twitter was absolutely in love with everything about the Zoom Where It Happens event tonight, which saw an all-Black cast do a live reading of Friends‘ “The One Where It Never Happened” episode.

Hosted by Gabrielle Union, the event starred Sterling K. Brown as Ross, Ryan Michelle Bathe as Rachel, Uzo Aduba as Phoebe, Aisha Hinds as Monica, Kendrick Sampson as Joey, and Jeremy Pope as Chandler.

The event also had a surprise appearance by Cynthia Erivo, who belted out the iconic theme song, “I’ll Be There For You”.

During and after watching the special event, which spotlighted When We All Vote, a non-partisan voter registration organization, fans were tweeting about it on social media – even Kerry Washington!

“#ZoomWhereItHappens omg I love seeing real BLACK LOVE!!!!! Yes to @SterlingKBrown and his better half Ms Ryan @michellechel,” she wrote while watching.

Jeremy, who fans were thirsting over, tweeted after the live reading, “Yoo! that was too much fun. thank you to everyone who tuned into FRIENDS #ZoomWhereItHappens please be sure you are registered to vote 🙌🏾http://whenweallvote.org.”

Sterling added, “Absolute pleasure working with you, bruh! Let’s do it again!!! ✌🏿”

An all-black reading of Friends is happening!

Gabrielle Union, who once guest starred on the original show, will be hosting the event, Variety reports.

Salli Richardson-Whitfield will direct the event that will take place on Tuesday, September 21 at 6/5c at Zoom Where It Happens.

While Gabrielle will be hosting the event, Sterling K. Brown, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Uzo Aduba, Aisha Hinds, Kendrick Sampson, and Jeremy Pope will star as the iconic characters of Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe for the virtual reading.

Sterling and Ryan, real life husband and wife, will play Ross and Rachel; with Uzo as Phoebe, Aisha as Monica, Kendrick as Joey, and Jeremy as Chandler.

According to Variety, the reading will spotlight When We All Vote, a non-partisan voter registration organization.
