Thomas Markle made an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning (June 18) and spoke about his daughter, Duchess Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry, and the possibility of future royal babies!

Thomas remarked that his daughter “has wanted children for a long time.”

“And when she met Harry she spoke about how much she loved him and so there has to be a child making somewhere soon,” Thomas said. “I don’t think there is a stork in the air yet but I think it will happen sooner or later.”

Duchess Meghan Markle‘s dad, Thomas Markle, went on Good Morning Britain on Monday (June 18) and discussed how Prince Harry asked for his permission to marry his daughter.

“The first phone calls were, ‘Daddy, I have a new boyfriend, and I said, ‘That’s really nice,’ and the next call was, ‘He’s British,’ and I said, ‘That’s really nice,’ and eventually the third time around was, ‘He’s a prince,’ and at that point she said, ‘It’s Harry,’ and I said, ‘Oh Harry. OK.’ ‘Of course, we’ll have to call him “H” so no one knows we’re talking about Harry,’” Thomas said.

He then spoke about Prince Harry asking for permission to marry the now-Duchess of Sussex.

“Actually, Meghan told me first…then the few times after that, Harry got on the phone with Meghan, they called me together, and Harry asked for her hand over the phone and I said, ‘You’re a gentleman. Promise me you’ll never raise your hand against my daughter, and of course I give you my permission,” Thomas continued.

Meghan Markle‘s father Thomas Markle was unable to attend the Royal Wedding due to his health issues, but he is speaking out after the big event!

Thomas suffered a heart attack earlier this month and then there was the paparazzi scandal in which it was revealed that he staged photos of himself ahead of the wedding. After bowing out of the wedding to not embarrass Meghan and Prince Harry, he revealed his intentions to try and attend. In the end, he needed surgery on his heart and could not make the trip to England.

Thomas tells TMZ that he watched the royal wedding in California and that it was “emotional and joyful.”

“My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy. I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness,” he said in his statement.

Prince Charles walked the bride down the aisle in his place.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Meghan Markle has asked Prince Charles to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to his son Prince Harry this weekend.

Meghan‘s father Thomas Markle is no longer able to attend the wedding due to his health. He underwent surgery on his heart this week following a heart attack earlier in the month.

“Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way,” the palace said in a statement.
