Leona Lewis and her longtime love Lou Al-Chamaa, an electrician, departs from LAX airport in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Leona and Lou currently live together in Hackney, London. They have known each other since she was nine years old–she’s now 23!
Last month, Ms. Lewis became the first British woman in 20 years to top the Billboard charts with her smash hit “Bleeding Love.”

I would never have thought she was British given the fact she sings songs produced in America, is part managed by Clive Davis and has no British ‘charm’ about her. If people had said she was from Brooklyn, I don’t think anyone would second guess given her softy-softy spoken voice.
I wouldn’t class her as a celebrity yet, she’s a good pop vocalist and that’s it. She’s got no x-factor, isn’t a true entertainer, looks like a typical young mixed race girl and offers little in the way of personality. How people compare her to Mariah and Whitney I will never know.

Give her time. She’s just starting out. It will take a while before she comes into her own and develops her look and style. Mariah and Celine were the same way. They both made adjustments and even had plastic surgery.
