Brad Pitt To Build 90 Homes in New Orleans

A fedora-sporting Brad Pitt leaves his New Orleans home in Louisiana on Tuesday.

He announced at a charity reception yesterday that his Make It Right Foundation has now raised enough money to build 90 homes in Hurricane Katrina-ravaged New Orleans. They also unveiled a donation from the American Idol Foundation, according to Us Weekly.

After the reception, Brad was seen dining with board members at one of Emeril’s restaurants, Delmonico’s.

For the person posting all of Ange’s humanitarian efforts, bless your heart. Angelina is a well loved person and therefore she gives selflessly.

She is genuinely concerned and does not want to donate money to improve the situation today, but she clearly thinks what would be good for the present and future.. She has herself said, she could donate clothes to the poor but instead donates sewing machines and opens a training center to allow women to learn to sew.. this will give them a lifetime of employment.

Angelina visited Chad last year and Newsweek captured those moments.. She truly brought attention to Darfur much before other cinestars jumped on the bandwagon.

This is why the troll rant was so out of place. If not for Brad being on tabloids etc he should have been nominated for Fight Club, Snatch and Babel. But critics, like the ones writing about Angelina today, use to say he would not get nominated because he was too handsome, that he was on too many magazine/tab covers about his love life and because he was too big a celebrity. It would be nice for Brad and Angelina to get a Oscar nomination but I would not hold my breath.

    AWESOME NEWS. Thanks Jared

    Congrats Brad!

    They still need donations:

Give $10, 25 or more and know that you are investing in a house for a family!

To those of you who state Texas needs help, maybe you should get off your butts and write Brad, write your congressmen, your senators, the president and start a movement to get help! I’ve lived in both LA and TX and Texas is a far richer state than LA. Get moving and get some help.

Funny how he is such a blank slate. He seems to always take on his other half’s personality. What an empty man!

Anna if he is such an empty man, what does that make you? What have you ever given back to the society. It is usually the empty vessels that makes the most noise. At least he is doing something good with his life, trying to better other peoples’ lives. That is to be commended. Idiots like you should learn a thing or two from him and get off your backside and do something worthwhile for your community instead of letting jelousy eat you up. It is nice to be inspired by your other half because it means you are humble. There are people who go through life experience and still don’t learn anything good but only evil. Evil consumes them and they are eaten up with envy, bitterness, meaness, criticism and judging others. When they die they die a lonely and sad death and go straight to hell where they receive their own judgement – eternal fire for their poor soul. I hope you are getting my point.

    Part 1:

    OFF TOPIC: Response to Schlumberger

    Schlumberger @ 10/07/2008 at 4:28 am

Let me bring you this to read. Like you, I also boldfaced part of the article.
The Tax Policy Center and the Barack Obama campaign used some sleight of hand this week in Politico. To quote Eric Tolder of the TPC, “Most small-business people, like most everyone else, are not really high-income.” While this is true, it completely and totally misses the point.
Let’s start with the definition of a “small business.” Most will tell you that small-business income constitutes income derived from sole proprietorships, partnerships and Subchapter S corporations.
So what do the data say?
The Obama campaign maintains that the number of small-business owners is what’s important. Economists know what matters is the tax rate that’s applied to the bulk of small-business income. Make no mistake about it: Obama’s plan to raise taxes on households making more than $250,000 will raise taxes on most small-business profits in America.
What would a world look like where two-thirds of all small-business income would be taxed at a 50 percent rate? The economic law that “taxing something more and getting less of it” would apply. Fewer Americans would be interested in opening or expanding small businesses. Tax evasion and legal tax avoidance would spike, as tax shelters would once again become a booming industry. Since small businesses create a majority of jobs in America, Main Street closing up shop will have a direct impact on the family budget, as well. Plants and equipment will go unused. Despite the misguided opinions of static scorers in Washington, federal tax revenues will likely decline as the economy staggers into a full-on recession

    Schlumberger @ 10/07/2008 at 5:03 am

lylian @ 10/07/2008 at 4:13 am As good as how mccain is going to be able to afford 4.2 trillion dollars in tax cuts and take aggressive actions in Iraq and everywhere else he sees a threat and needs to take preemptive action

    1) 4.2 trillion? Are you being careless in your numbers?
    2) Where is your supporting evidence when you said “……and everywhere else he sees a threat and needs preemptive action”?
Are you projecting what he’s gonna do and write it as FACT?

    Hi Schlumberger,

I looked carefully at the article in the link you gave me and re read the complete article which is available in pdf form from the Tax Policy Centre here:

On the issue of the 4.2 trillion:

The 4.2 Trillion estimate was found in the TPC analysis:

“Although both candidates have at times stressed fiscal responsibility, their specific non-health tax proposals would reduce tax revenues by an estimated $4.2 trillion (McCain) and $2.9 trillion (Obama) over the next 10 years.”

TPC provides additional analysis of how they came to that 4.2 trillion dollar conclusion. I will not discuss some other analysis that TPC did based on certain assumptions about mccain’s tax plan but you can read it in page 4 of TPC’s pdf format which would increase the reduction in tax revenues even more under the Mccain plan.

On the issue of tax increases in both the Mccain Plan and the Obama Plan.

    (a) I understand the concerns of businesses that they shouldn’t be taxed to death. But I would like to point out that, during the Clinton years, despite having 36% and 39.6% top marginal tax rates, the US economy grew at a good rate.

    (b) So, will the small business that Mr Norquist mention actually stop growing just because under Obama’s tax plan, their top marginal tax rates revert back to the Clinton days?

Historical evidence would suggest the answer is NO. Small and medium size business continued to grow even with top marginal income tax rates of 36 and 39.6% just as they did during the clinton years.

    Part 3:

    OFF TOPIC: Response to Schlumberger

On the issue of the pre-emptive strike.

OK, OK, I was being a bit sarcastic. But here is the Bush doctrine as agreed to by Palin.

“GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?
PALIN: I agree that a president’s job, when they swear in their oath to uphold our Constitution, their top priority is to defend the United States of America.
I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people.”

But I don’t think mccain will go and bomb Iran willy nilly. It’s just, where will he draw the line? I’m gonna sound like Jennifer Aniston when I say – the world just isn’t sure and I’m not being sarcastic here.

    On healthcare:

I read the mccain proposal vs the obama proposal. I also checked out some analysis. Here is what the Urban Institute has to say about the mccain healthcare proposal:

“In brief, McCain’s proposal would dramatically change how many Americans obtain health insurance coverage, make coverage less accessible for those with health problems, have a high budget cost, but have little effect on the number uninsured. “

More detailed analysis on Mccains healthcare plan is found here:

Does obama’s healthcare plan have problems? Sure. The problems are outlined here including your point – how will he pay for this?

But the issue to me is, obama’s healthcare plan is incremental. It doesn’t change the underlying premise that has worked for a long time in American healthcare – the employer provides. Mccain’s proposal, by changing the method of taxing healthcare benefits, could change all that and we aren’t not sure what we will get.

Personally, I like the uncertainty thrown up by Mccain’s plan right now.

oh daddy brad you are a good man! i’m proud to be a fan. i’ll pray that you and angie will stay together forever! you both has the biggest heart. God will Bless you and your children!

  • Ike

Well the people in New Orleans are full of blacks who want the governement to do EVERYTHING for them, none of them have jobs and they are all on welfare..Katrina was 3 years ago gosh damnit. What about the people in Galveston who lost their homes? Stop filling sorry for the people in New Orleans…they are useless.

  • katrinasucksass

The only reason why Ike isn’t getting much attention is because there aren’t a bunch of black people running around saying “Government help me!” like they did in Katrina…That storm happened a long time ago.
And the people in Texas don’t need help because we aren’t lazy and don’t expect the government to build our homes and give us free shit.

LOL. I wonder what Brad Pitt could be doing today if he was still married to Jennifer Anniston — hanging at Cabo in Mexico with her??? No wonder they divorced — they are just two different people. Jennifer just loves nice, fun, pampered life . . . she is a typical groupie girl — just hangs around (no wonder she fell for what his face guitar guy, the musician guy— can’t even remember his name, that is how unforgettable that guy is. Oh well, Jennifer Anniston is better off without him, she’ll find someone she’ll hang out with again.

  • Brangiefan

JA said that Angelina was NOT the reason their marriage broke up.
WHY bother with these negative comments? It doesn’t make sense to me.

I agree with the gal who said that they have built a LOVELY home, for some very lucky children! I am glad they are on the planet with us.

And I am thankful they are helping NOLA in homebuilding efforts.
