OlderKatherine Heigl is Right on 'The Money'
Katherine Heigl is attached to star in One for the Money, based on the Janet Evanovich novel of the same name.
The film would star Katherine as Stephanie Plum, a jobless lingerie buyer who becomes a bounty hunter to pay the bills.
The Plum series currently consists of 15 novels, with a 16th being released this summer.
According to Variety, the project has been in limbo for several years, with Reese Witherspoon originally attached to star.

Reese would’ve been a disaster as Stephanie Plum. Katherine Heigl is all wrong for it but an imporvement over Reese. My personal choice is “none of the above.” I always thought of a young Sandra Bullock as Stephanie. So people should think of who could do that. Personally, I think Zooey Deschanel would be perfect.
She’ll be great as Stephanie. The books are incredibly funny and this should be a good movie.

Reese is a great star. Heigl is only ****. Then this woman is busy for Greys but she’s free for movies. I’m curious to know the opinion of Izzie’s fans.
OMG!! Love the books. I think Katherine is WAY better than Reese. But I would’ve loved someone like Sandra Bullock better. I think they want a younger star to carry the series of movies for a long time. I actually really like Anne Hathaway for the role.
Sarah – she has been on maternity leave. The movie has not even begun shooting. It is likely she will shoot it in the summer after the end of the Grey’s season. Sorry she doesn’t time her children around your tv schedule how thoughtless of her. Geez.
I have always thought these books should be turned into a movie series! So glad to see someone finally decided to do so. I never really pictured Katherine as Stephanie, but I must say that she would do a good job. I wonder who will play Morelli and Ranger?!
Katherine will do an amazing job – she is such a talented actress. Can’t wait.

Not a Heigl fan. Huge Stephanie Plum fan. Will not be watching the film. It will never make it to a series. Straight to video. Stephanie is not a WASP. She is a Jersey girl. No way Heigl can go there. BIG casting fail.

Humm… between an Oscar Award Winning actress and a semi credible Emmy Award winning supporting actress. I’ll choose the first one. Reese will always own her role and give it her special touch. KH will give that character the plankness she’s good at. But anyway I can understand why they did what they did. The better actress are always the most expensive one.
I guess the producer cut down their budget for this movie in case it can’t measure up to Avatar the sequel box office success.

Witherspoon are not expensive or do not earn more money than Heigl (according to the lists).
I think producer choosed KH because of her last box-office success.

SO EXCITED! I love these books. They are so funny. Katherine will work… but I’m way more interest in Lulu, Grandma Mazur, Morelli and Ranger! Yippee!!!! Betty white would be a great Grandma Mazure… or that really old one from Golden Girls, unfortunately I think she may have passed on. I’m sooooo excited! Yay for Stephanie Plum!!!
I don’t know about this one. Stephanie just seems too different in the books for Heigl to be her. I agree about Morelli and Ranger, those will be some nice visuals. I love the books and hope she does them justice.

indeed. half the point of Stephanie is that she lacks self esteem. that’s why she doesn’t get they Joe is all hot for her. why Ranger is all hot for her. She’s pretty but doesn’t see it herself. Katherine doesn’t fit that in the least. and even when she tries, it is total fail.
what they need is like a young Sandra or a young Marisa Tomei. preferably someone more or less unknown (say someone that has been on screen as a supporting character or on tv).
this just reeks of stunt casting.
GAH. I’m a HUGGGEEE Plum fan, but I’m not too pleased with this casting. How is KH going to pull off the Jerseyness of Stephanie!?? She can’t do it, she doesn’t have the ****** lifestyle to back it up. Plus she’s too tall.
