This was the best performance of the night. Well the most entertaining, to me. I Like him a lot more now.

  • justsaying

me too! I agree-it was soooo great! Love him tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sceptic

I’ve never really listened to him, but this performance was SO cool. Very entertaining, without bumping and grinding all over the place.

  • Paula

Best performance of the night!!!! So perfect

  • Fumi

This was the best performance all night… and i had never heard of him til they introduced him. however, now that i have googled him and listened to other stuff, this opening act was by far the best. blew me away.

  • Chanel

First, this was my first time ever to watch the entire Grammy’s from beginning to end.

LL Cool J, great host! I have been a fan of yours since, as long as I can remember! From his music career to acting career. You were great! Nice how you started off the show by talking about Whitney Houston and that prayer for her, I’m sure that she was pleased in heaven, looking over everyone that she has touched for thirty years! Great Job LL!

Wow, just wow, I never, ever seen Bruno Mars performed before, and I was blown away, when he did that James Brown, wow! Great Job Bruno, hope to see more performances from you in the future, guess I got to download the song now, huh, lol, again, wow, and great job!!!

Alicia Keys, amazing. Great performance as ever, was this her first performance and seen public since she had adorable cutie pie, Egypt with husband, Swizz Beatz, I think so, and I can’t wait for your next cd to drop this year, since you came on scene, I have always wanted to pick up the piano again, and I do hope that, that will be pretty soon!

Chris Brown, your performance was interesting… good, but interesting and towards the end of the show, you were great, you represented the 804, always a fan of the same state that I am from, and that is Virginia, can’t wait for Fortune to come out this year!

Kelly Clarkson, I loved your dress that you wore while performing, beautiful!

Rihanna, your performance was good, wished you would have won album of the year though!

Jennifer Hudson, you had me in tears girl, paying tribute to The Late Whitney Houston, that sounds so weird to me right now saying The Late Whitney Houston, singing I Always Love You, one of my favorite songs from her. Right now, those lyrics are so deep when you think about it now and forever. Great Job J-Hud!

Nicki Minaj, your performance, omg, it was good and scary at the same time, if it makes sense!

I know this person was not nominated but I didn’t know that he was there or even a presenter until they said his name, but Drake, you looked really good, you are one of my favorite rappers and I do like your singing too!

I thought Beyonce was supposed to performed, so I guess her and Jay stayed home with Little Miss Blue Ivy, who is so beautiful, Congrats to you two again for the birth of your daughter, and for Jay, Congrats on your award, tonight!

  • Illyria

I don’t get it. What’s it with this pathetic-haired little man? Ugh!

  • carrienae

Bruno and his group was so amazing!!! They do put great performences all the time. I truly enjoy him and his charm….

  • Alba

Illyria….I like you and what you have to say. He did not sound or dance well

  • Lovelydee

    This man can really put
    on a show. Love him.

  • Kris

Love Bruno Mars–loved his performance! Best of the night, in my opinion…

  • peter

James Brown lives!! Thank you Bruno Mars!

  • Carlos

My Granddaughter says you are the best and after last night I agree with her. No RAP but singing and dancing and those James Brown moves….WOW! Good for you Bruno.

  • JoeB

I love Adele like everybody. What is Bruno, chopped liver???? He puts out a solid great album with at least a couple of memorable songs. He has a great Grammy performance complete with a split. Gets the crowd jumpin’ and no Grammy. What’s up with that?

  • reeniebeenie

OMG! I watch Bruno’s version of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie” to start my day every day, now I’ll be watchin this one. It is so fine to see some of that old school “dressed up and dance” Perfect! This guy can move! and so does his band! Prince? where are you babe? you are the master of dance moves, miss seeing you perform!

  • mon cheri

that performance was even better than the one on x factor. It’s a shame he didn’t win any grammy. I think he’s just brilliant. Nowadays more than the half of the singers can’t hold the balance between singing and dancing at the same time and all of them sound terrible or they just lip sync. For me he is the only one who can handle that perfectly and he is the most talented singer right now and yeah he kicked ass :D

  • yum

    1:09 cookies are done!

  • Bob Schwab

I have always thought Bruno Mars was good but just OK. Last night he went to a whole other level. One of the best performances ever at the Grammys. It just shows how much we miss that sound. Good God. Hit me. Hit me two times. Hey!

  • Martha H.
  • Unbeatablefoe

Wow, Bruno put it down. By far one of the best James Brown performances to date! This was the best performance of the night!

  • Petsounds

Ummm… Have you ever heard of Elvis Presley or Jerry Lee Lewis?

  • Petsounds

Best performance of the night, without a doubt. Bruno Mars is so underapprecited. An amazing talent. It was great watching his backup guys dancing too.

  • Petsounds

@sss: Umm… Have you ever heard of Elvis Presley or Jerry Lee Lewis?

  • http://Kayden_ssminnow Dean

Never heard of him before. I saw him on a small town Midweek newspaper in Honolulu, Hawai’i. He used to work for the Ohana Waikikibeachcomber Hotel with magician John Hirokawa show right following this man’s show. I said the show was a bum, and so that was the whole story. He was in Las Vegas next time people heard of him. He was also at the famous Don Ho club also in Hawai’i and at the same restaurant or hotel, I think. Not much is said of this guy in Hawai’i. Don Ho was at the same hotel as the magician doing the same entertainment gig for years. Others like Society of Seven were at the Outrigger Hotel across the street in Waikiki.

  • http://Kayden_ssminnow Dean

me again? Bruno Mars additional information; I’m sure the others who he knew at the hotel he used to entertain were the only people he knew or associated with. Other than that, do not know what his gig was or how it compared with famous singers like Don Ho from the 60s & 70s in Waikiki. As for popularity, I never heard of h him and about the only support his getting is from the hotel community he was from, Waikiki.

  • Bob Schwab

It’s not just Bruno. It’s the song, it’s the band playing and dancing,
it’s the stage setting, it’s the lighting, it’s the wardrobe that makes this a great performance.

In case you haven”t heard Elvis is dead, James Brown is dead and Jerry Lee lewis can’t quite rock the same way he used to back in the day ( no disrespect intended ). Bruno has picked up the torch and he took care of business.

Thank ya, thank ya very much.

  • http://justjared.buzznet.com jassica

wow bruno was amazing he’s going to be remembered in history for his music trust me it’s been a long time since we watched such a performance he brought back the old school music and the song is good too I loved the carrot part lol

  • http://justjared.buzznet.com lily

if james brown and elvis ever had a baby it would be bruno such a talented young man

  • http://justjared.buzznet.com selena86

    @Dean:

I don’t know where you’re going with that stupid comment of yours but apparently you’re some jealous guy from bruno’s past who didn’t make it and now sits in pain seeing bruno getting all the money

  • Monica

@Sonia: Definitely possible to love him more. I saw him in concert in August… I didn’t know much of him then… but fell so in love with him from it. He is a great performer and singer!

Are your freaking kidding me? Never seen or heard of him before but I am now a fan. Great performance. I need the audio of this Grammy performance for my iPod. Great to work out to.

  • Bob Schwab

The timing was perfect. Everyone was feeling down, depressed and confused because of Whitney Houston’s passing. He brought us all back up and reminded us of the power of music to heal.

Come on. Lets hear for Bruno and the band.

  • elvis costanza
