Simon Cowell Creating American Boy Band - Exclusive!

Simon Cowell‘s schedule here in the States may be getting even busier.

The 52-year-old X Factor judge is in the early stages of creating an American boy band, JustJared.com has learned exclusively.

Simon is really excited to form a group of guys from America. He’s done such a fine job with British boys, so he’s ready to try his hand in America. He’s looking for the right people to team up with and create their sound,” a source tells us exclusively.

Simon‘s recent British groups include One Direction and the opera singing quartet Il Divo, who are both signed to his Syco label.

WHAT KIND OF BOY BAND do you think Simon Cowell should create?

I don’t know. Finding a group of guys who can sing is the easy part. But, finding that one standout voice, that Justin Timberlake or JC Chasez., is going to be harder. Plus, I don’t like the boy bands that Simon has created so far.

One Direction is a great group. However boy bands have a better chance at becoming famous in Europe rather than the US, and this coming from a European. Boy bands in the States were seen regarded as cool in the 90s. Now I think solo male artists have a better chance (in US). I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but that’s the general feeling I get.

R.I.P. Oscar – A Hollywood Satire by Andie Heid:
Welcome to the 84th Oscar Games! Please welcome your host for the evening, the one and only Billy with the Crystal Ball:
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! As you already know it all ends on 21 December 2012. But what if Hollywood says NO? We’ll figure it out. It would be a shame, if we wouldn’t have the chance to see Transformers 4-5-6-7 (It’s like a neverending story), Jar Jar Binks in 4 D (3 D is so yesterday), Pocahontas under water (Avatar 2) or Batman vs. Superman vs. Spider-Man vs. Iron Man vs. Green Lantern vs. Robin vs. Flash vs. Captain America vs. Hulk vs. Thor vs. Black Widow vs. Wonderwoman vs. Catwoman vs. Lara Croft (Did I forget somebody? And who would win?).
I promise you, that the Oscar Show will be young and hip and fresh and cool and jiggy and … sorry I can’t see the teleprompter… yeah and funny of course.
We (Oscar and I) eliminated all the tech categories, so we didn’t have to invite all the freaks and geeks. Now the room is full with beautiful and rich people and IF you win, you will have more time to thank your plastic surgeon, hair dresser, stylist, Chanel, Prada, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Louboutin. Not to forget GOD, for creating you, your family for showing embarrassing photos or videos from your childhood and your greedy agent for getting you a job, a boyfriend and calling the paparazzi, where you are.
A little side note: Gollum has stolen the envelopes…

Um…not so sure about this, boy bands aren’t very successful anymore, I mean with the exception of II Volo and One Direction but how long will that last? What I have noticed is that boy bands have one big hit and then they are gone like that in the U.S. and usually set their sights on international waters. I’m not saying that they are destined for failure, I am just saying that sometimes its a roll the dice situation…good luck though.

How about a country boy band? They would do really well in the U.S, and that’s a genre Simon has yet to explore.
