Anna Paquin Talks Bisexuality & Teeth with 'Zooey'

Anna Paquin rocks a Dina Bar-El dress on the cover of Zooey‘s April/May issue.

Here’s what the 29-year-old actress shared with the mag (the photo shoot took place right before she announced she was pregnant):

On being bisexual: “I’m sure for some people saying they’re bisexual feels less scary than making a statement that they’re gay. For me, it’s not really an issue because I’m someone who believes being bisexual is actually a thing. It’s not made up. It’s not a lack of decision. It’s not being greedy or numerous other ignorant things I’ve heard at this point. For a bisexual, it’s not about gender. That’s not the deciding factor for who they’re attracted to.”

On insecurities being in Hollywood: “Interestingly enough, I don’t really care about my teeth, but I think any woman on this planet could say, ‘I wish my ass was smaller, my arms were thinner and I had green eyes not brown.’ I think anyone is as critical as they have the energy to self-obsess, but I also know as an actress you are more limited if you interfere with your looks. If you have a whole bunch of work done with your teeth and your face and your boobs then you’re only going to play modern people. That’s a big choice to make. Very limiting.”

    Jess Says:

Someone like Megan Fox should listen to what Anna says about interfering with your looks.

    mel Says:

I agree with everything she said. I think there are lots of people that fall in love with the person and not their gender. She’s gorgeous and I’m so happy for her and Stephen and their baby on the way :)

    Nina Says:

Great, another s l utty messed up chick who’s trying to sound deep when clearly she’s not. I hope she miscarries!

  4. 4
    Nina Says:

@mel: Yes, those people are called promiscuous.

  5. 5
    food 4 thought Says:

Now that is a definition of bisexuality that anyone can understand. Good for her. Wish her the best.

    rachel Says:

I don’t get the comment about the teeth

    frisbee Says:

@Nina: Awww, you little ray of sunshine, you!
Good for you, Anna, love the teeth, btw.

    food 4 thought Says:

@rachel: She doesn’t have the perfect Hollywood teeth – they are rather spaced. I’m sure she has been pressured to have them straightened and capped.

  9. 9
    Nina Says:

@frisbee: Thank you. I love gay people, but I am dubious about “bisexuality”. Pick a team for crying out loud! Good luck to her kid.

    Mimi Says:

@Nina: I totally agree! Basically, she’ll sleep with anything. Nice….

  11. 11
    mel Says:

@Nina: Well the part you are dubious about is what she explains… it’s not about picking a “team” its about loving a person.

  12. 12
    tanya Says:

Fix those choppers! Get Invisalign. The space make her look so much more unattractive.

  13. 13
    Nina Says:

    @mel: That’s c rap, she’s a s lut, and apparently you’re quite promiscuous yourself since you’re defending that BS.

    cool Says:

There’s a difference between getting plastic surgery and getting your teeth fixed. She looks like an ugly-version of the Farmer’s Daughter stereotype.

    wow Says:

All of you lovely citizens making comments about her being a **** are so ignorant and sad that I really can’t stand this stupid ass-backwards country anymore. Be kind to each other and grow up.

  16. 16
    Effy Says:

I agree with her teeth comment. I have gap teeth and braces didn’t fix it. So now I just embrace it!

  17. 17
    Love Anna! Says:

Anna is a beautiful and intelligent woman. I wish her and Stephen the best.

  18. 18
    frisbee Says:

@Nina: Hahaha! Are you for real? Coz if yes, then this **** is even funnier than I thought.

  19. 19
    Nina Says:

@frisbee: Yes, I’m for real. I’m heterosexual and it’s pretty clear. I imagine if I were gay it’d be really clear as well. “Bisexuality” is an excuse for being promiscuous. Have I not made myself clear already?

  20. 20
    Noelle Says:

So much ignorance up in here… Why not focus on your miserable self instead of spreading lies about bisexuality Nina?

  21. 21
    mel Says:

@Nina: Actually my first time was with the guy I’m still with 2 years later. It’s quite ignorant to think that I’m promiscuous because I believe people should be able to freely love other people without jerks like you judging them.

  22. 22
    Nina Says:

@Noelle: Ha, ha, ha. I’m not miserable, I know who I am. Do you?

  23. 23
    Nina Says:

@mel: Why doesn’t Anna just be a lesbian, which clearly she is (not that there’s anything wrong with it) and use a d i l do. Tada! Sexual orientation dilemma solved! I guarantee you, she will have this baby, divorce her husband and go back to being the lesbian that she is.

  24. 24
    frisbee Says:

@Nina: It’s the use of the word “promiscuous” that gets me – who uses it anymore? And, side note, how many people does it take to be promiscuous? Is 10 one-gender partners it? How about a 100? And how about 1 of each? Is that enough? Also, can you quote me some literature on those numbers? I’m fascinated.

  25. 25
    Nina Says:

@frisbee: I can’t give you an exact number, obviously. That’s a personal decision. I’m not a prude, but I’ve never had a one night stand and I think anyone who has should reevaluate their self worth. That goes for men, women, straight or gay. I’m not religious, but I do think one should have somewhat deep feelings for a person before they are intimate.
