He’s talented like crazy, and it too bad that he hasn’t been more present in music with new albums and tours , I stead of the crap that’s out there But damn he looks like a little old black lady , the hair , make up and he’s so tiny ,… But still great talent.

Love,Love,Love. The TRUE KING. Prince never needed a title. We all know who the REAL KING is. Prince plays live music, no lip syncing. His music will stand the test of time. He’s a modern day MOZART. The non-talented rappers like Jay-Z and Kanye West who rap over others peoples music would love to get their hands on Prince’s music archive but he won’t let them have it. Prince believes in hard work and not being a cheater. Prince only has allowed a few rappers to use his music. Tupac and Mc hammer.

He looked like Jimi Hendrix was being channeled through him.

  • NYC

    @marmot:
I said the same thing tonight. Great guitarist. Prince never disappoints.
One of the greatest writers, producers and musical talent in the history of the music industry.

And this ladies and gentlemen is how you perform on a stage for an award show.
It’s a crying shame that a 50+ yr. old artist has to come out and show you how it’s done the proper way.
Bruno (as usual) was the only one other than Prince who showed up.

  • KissThis

They actually had a talented artist on the show! I’m genuinely surprised.

  • Nicolette

The only true musician that graced that stage. What he does is MUSIC, in every sense of the word. He is in a league of his own.

  • lots

Well that woke the place up.

    Channeling a little Jimmie Hendrix…

The Man is back. Hope he has an music coming out. Miss him in the music industry. With all the crap that’s out besides Adel, Bruno Mars, Maria Carey. We need him back to teach these young folk about music.

  • EndOfTime

Him and Bruno Mars were the only true musician performing last night. loved it

  • Cheryl

Yes, he was channeling his inner Jimi Hendrix! His new backup band and Manager have given him new inspiration and have lit that inner fire to create. Hope the new album with Kobalt will be released as soon as possible…CANNOT WAIT! Was well worth the wait to see him perform!

  • marylovesprince

I had the pleasure to see Prince live at the Ogden on May 12th!! He was rocking the same afro and playing with the same group. His preformance last night was a flashback!!! I <3 Prince!!! He is the BEST!!! Xx

Oh my gosh! I was so excited last night watching the show. It was my first time seeing Prince perform (somewhat) live!! I am such a huge supporter of his work! I pray that I will see him in concert someday soon.. He rocked the show 4 me. Then, his band rocked out! It was amazing!

  • Therese Temaui

PRINCE = GENIUS. His performance, Bruno Mars and let’s not forget CHRIS BROWN were all spectacular.

  • kksrc

Hot damn, he had an all girl band… Or was that Salt ‘N’ Pepa… Doesn’t matter, his purple badness rocked the house!!!

  • kksrc

@marylovesprince: Was that ogdenville or north haverbrook? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEZjzsnPhnw

  • ssdamita

It’s nice to see a true performer, true “icon” show them how it’s done. Real music, real talent, real performing. None of that bumpin and grindin on stage…a real live concert from a real live musician who was worthy of being on stage in front of millions. That’s what an award show should be about. Save the lap dances for the strip clubs. Come on people!

  • marmot

@kksrc Prince always has a woman band and he gets new ones every couple years.
    Just ask Sheila E.

Been a Prince fan since 1984. First saw him live on Purple Rain tour in Syracuse. Having to sit through the two- hour-45-minute award show to see Prince, finally, was almost unbearable…the glaring lights, lewd gyrations, lame lyrics, lack of musicality (with a few exceptions)…man, what a sad…well, on to Prince. He looked great, awesome performance, emanated joy of music. He demonstrated what it is to be an ICON.

  • eljeran

It was nice of Prince to show the rest of the performers at the BBMA what a guitar is. I don’t think they have ever seen one before.

  • Lisa

    Love prince!! So much talent!!

  • Prince Rocks The World

I love Prince and has loved him since my youth and him singing Do Me Baby and International Lover. Smh. This man has enriched my life with so much gorgeous, unforgettable, true musical classics. I really can’t imagine my life without his music being the soundtrack. I thank God for allowing me to be born during a time where I could enjoy the reapings of his talent. To Billboard thank you for doing whatever that allowed him to play that stage. Yes he’s an icon and has been for the last 30 some odd years, no surprise there. But to be as talented and to have contributed so much to the world of music, I’m just greatful. Thank God. And Thank you Prince. Your performance was by far the greatest on the show ever! The only reason I watched that show in years upon years. God Bless to the Purple Genius One!
