The twin sisters are joined on the track by Andy Samberg‘s band The Lonely Island.

“The moment we heard ‘Everything Is Awesome’ we were on board to be part of The Lego Movie,” Tegan shared in a statement. “Getting to sing such a fun song and work with Mark Mothersbaugh and his team was a treat. The addition of The Lonely Island only made things even more awesome, and we can’t wait to see the movie!”

    They have all that money & they can’t afford a good hairdresser. Those styles aren’t flattering on anyone– gay or straight. I like their music. Just don’t like their new look. They looked better 5 years ago.

    This track was created by Mark Mothersbaugh of Mutato.com he is the films composer. Tegan and Sara came in for one day to track vocals.

    @NatalieBalls: Of course you know Mark Mothersbaugh, you just don’t know it. Most important, Devo You have to remember “Whip it!” (unless you’re like, really really young). From then on, he’s done the music/score for many shows and movies from the Pee Wee show to the Royal Tenenbaums all the way to Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Rugrats (in case you are indeed very young). Back off, he really is a legend, for both being a huge success in the 80s for his band and then his work for music scoring.
