Andrew Rannells Replacing Neil Patrick Harris in Broadway's 'Hedwig & The Angry Inch'!
Andrew Rannells is set to make his big return to Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of the show Hedwig and the Angry Inch!
The 35-year-old actor will be taking over for Neil Patrick Harris, who just won the Tony Award for his performance and will end his limited engagement on August 17. Andrew will star in the show from August 20 through October 12.
Here is the show’s synopsis (via EW): Hedwig is a transgender singer from East Berlin who intersperses tales of her childhood with songs backed by her fictional rock band Tits of Clay, all the while distracted by her ex-lover’s rival concert being performed the very same night, right across the street.
Andrew is best known for his work on the NBC sitcom The New Normal and as Hannah’s ex-boyfriend Elijah on HBO’s Girls. He got his start on the stage though and his star has been on the rise ever since his breakout role as Elder Price in the original cast of The Book of Mormon.
