Mr. Fry is someone who Kate has worked with before in ( Cold Comfort Farms) he is a very competent actor he played a very convincing part in that film as a troublesome love struck suitor , The important thing for all the players in this reproduction is that , Jane Austen Lived with the stories she told either thru her own experiences or the experiences of her sister or close relations , SO lets look at the psychology of this , we Have a women who wants to leave her vixen life behind her, she is doing this for her own sake and the sake of her daughter being able to hopefully marry well , so if Lady SUSAN were wealthy she would not worry because she would have it all beauty and vast resources , the story then would not be interesting at all , so we need a lower middle class widow who is willing to take a little verbal abuse to secure the happiness of herself and her daughter , common sense would demand this .Kate is an extremely versatile actress , my concern is can the dialog turn on a dime ,because the potentially explosive family situation that will be created when the family of the perspective husband realize she is a woman with a past she will in a very gracious way will have to verbally defend herself , now I have been studying Kate’s work for a long time ,watching her develop her style and evolve into a dramatic actress ,So she is perfect for this part having been seasoned by her playing Emma , she knows Jane’s style , I’m not trying to be critical , I only want to see the part played to it’s full potential , it’s suppose to have a sad ending , so men rarely cry , so if he looses lady Susan in the end he must cry , we are dealing with a man who falls in love with someone who turns out to be someone else after he has already fallen in love with her , she must cry too because she loves him and all the mistakes she has made in the past surface to overwhelm her emotionally , this story is real , Jane didn’t publish it because people would have been effected by it had she published it .

the thing about Love that most people take for granted it is the physical attraction ,they do not seek the emotional or spiritual love that may develop between a man and a woman , people have a tendency towards a one track mind , the prospective family should have to debate as to what kind of involvement they shared , it must not be apparent till the end that it was a spiritual and emotional union they shared so the Guilt of them being separated falls on the family and not Lady Susan or her perspective husband , the audience must be made to sink to their knee’s in pain over the two being separated , if your doing it for the craft ,who ever wrote the emotionally charged scenes for the Stoneheart Asylum should be brought in , Just my opinion , I decided not to write my own version of Lady Susan because like humor something is seldom enjoyable when told a second time , People are in effect the essence of what they set down on Paper ,I sense you have read my poetry I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed watching you , so if your ever in Stamford I have even more poems to share .
