Justin Bieber Defends Kylie Jenner After Amandla Stenberg's Instagram Comment

Justin Bieber just defended Kylie Jenner on Instagram after Amandla Stenberg called her out this past weekend for a photo she posted.

The 17-year-old reality star shared a pic where she was wearing cornrows in her hair, and Amandla commented saying she was appropriating black features.

“Guys leave her alone, were all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope! I’m the first to know this. But saying she’s being racist because she wants her hair in braids is ridiculous. lets focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid lets do something about equality, but it doesn’t start here blasting a 17 year old kid for wearing braids smh,” Justin wrote in defense of Kylie and her photo.

For once, I think I agree with Bieber.

This was way too eloquently written for Bieber’s standard lmao, that mustve been his team posting for him bc his grammar/spelling is usually a fucking MESS

  • duh!

    Oh God speaking of Whiggers

  • disqus_xxwDaBtW3O

Well, he’s barely had a grammar school education.

  • luna

I agree She’s not racist, she probably doesn’t even know what this word mean (bad education) but yes she needs to stop all of this, I mean she looks like a 30 years old chick who try to stole black culture and look like a black and yeah it look racist when a rich girl wears braids and does Botox in her butt!
And by the way Bieber she’s not an innocent thing… she’s a slut!

  • teedofftaxpayer

I don’t think she’s a racist, her whole family is into the Africans Americans. That’s what they want, more power to them.

  • ritle

What I gathered from Stenberg’s message is the superficial love some persons have for minorities, in this case persons of African-Americans. They are proponents of black culture; listens to the music, samples the music/feel, hire the producers……. but when it comes to the “nitty gritty” they are silent. I don’t think of that as racism i see that as ignorance, lack of empathy and greed (a person can make more money appealing to wider audience). Bieber’s statement to me just shows lack of understanding.

Also, if you want to be considered an adult, accept the consequences that you should and hopefully would be held accountable for what you say and do. The age issue only rears its head when it is advantageous . If it is a problem why is she out and about without parental supervision with a 25 year old. You cant have your cake and eat it….

  • Worllg

There’s nothing eloquent about this garbage. wtf.

  • silvermagnolia

The majority of black entertainers are silent when it comes to the “nitty gritty” also. So why would Amandla think a white person would jump into the fray and probably be told to mind their own business.

  • Worllg

Oh look! Someone that has been caught saying and doing racist shit, who also appropriates black culture speaking up trying to protect someone of his own race, and telling others how they should feel. But disappears on serious talks about race. Shut the fuck up you clown.

  • Mike1288

I don’t see why getting plastic surgeries makes you want to be black. Many white girls have butts also it’s a feature many guys now like (so are you going to now talk about how sexism causes this too?) full lips are in every nationality. If we are talking about appropriation are we going to talk about how black and white woman use Asian hair to make themselves look better because Asians have nice, thick, straight hair? The convo is stupid can we talk about something else like how we can get more minorities involved in the education system and in college without having to fill a “quota”?

  • ritle

The last few months manyAfrican american entertainers have made statement, I will admit not with a strength I had hoped. We meaning (persons of African descent) have to do our own self reflection of our current state but that does not mean we should not also look at the envionment we live in. There are many factors that should be examined, one of which is this. I like to call it multitasking.

  • goshdarling

lol Kylie throws shade at Jaden and gets defended by Bieber. Aren’t they all in the same clique. They’ll probably be an instagram/twitter/FB/snapchat photo of em all together next week.

  • CB

How is having your hair braided racist? Do ppl complain when Asians dye their hair? Or anything along those lines?

For once JB is correct (and I hate myself for admitting it out aloud) but she’s a kid and she got her hair braided… who cares!

She changed her look to promote her hair extensions line. Ppl need to calm down and focus on more important things rather than what a child is doing with her hair!

  • liz

    made me lol

  • Max

wait, so because she’s white it means she’s not allowed to wear her hair the way she wants? guess what THAT is racist!

  • Brandt

Get over yourself!! Why bring up the fact that Justin sang some racist songs when he was 14 surrounded by immature friends of the same age egging him on.. It’s the lesson in life he learned afterwards that counts and that he was genuinely sorry for what he did and went out of his way to make amends for it afterwards that counts.. Not some a stupid moment when he was 14 years old. Then again plenty of young teens make a stupid decision without thinking of the consequences so Justin is no different in that regard.. He knows the Kardashian/Jenner family very well and has known them for years so he would know if Kylie is racist or not.

  • Brandt

He graduated from high school with his diploma along with his class.. As for his online grammar he is speaking the language of others his age who don’t care about grammar when they use social media or texting for that matter.

  • Brandt

In your world all women are sluts even those underage?

  • sas318

    Justin is right. Good comment.

  • Exposed

I never thought I’d say this- but I agree with bieber! I’m fed up of people calling ‘cultural appropriation’ over such trivial things. Culture is a fluid entity- art and style will always be influenced by what came before it. You can’t decide that something such as a haircut is out of bounds outside your own community1

  • Worllg

Oh shut up with that he was young bullshit. Because just like 2 years ago, he graffiti painted some human like monkey, with hip hop gear. Its looked like some racist 1930′s cartoon. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO. Not when he was 14.

Lets also add his own culture vulture antics, where all of sudden he proclaims himself that the real him is a more urban hip hop feel, and allowing the narrative that it was his black friends fault for all his wrong doings. Now when its time to try and sell shit, he dropped being seen with those friends as much, and dropped the whole urban act for the most part, and is back trying to look like some beach boy looking white boy.

  • DunkknuD

First no he is not correct, because no one called her racist. They accused her of appropriating black culture, which her whole damn family does. Well not all of them, mainly Kim, Khloe, and now Kylie.

  • CB

What YOU just said is racist. Ppl have the right to fall in love with whomever no matter what each others skin color is.

And yes ppl were calling Kylie racist, which was the whole point of Amandla Stenberg’s original message. A.S like her post is idiotic.

you want black women wear braids when they want BUT at the same time other skin colors shouldn’t wear braids.

  • Sunnyvle

So true. Black and white women use Indian hair extensions to make their hair longer and thicker. I bet Amandla herself has worn Indian hair extensions before. Does that mean she is appropriating Indian culture? Does she know that the hair comes from a sacrificial practice in India? Its not at all meant for these black and white girls to wear. Its meant as an offering for the Indian gods.
Amandla reminds me of those young people who try to sound smart but are not.
That Jenner girl is just stupid and uninformed, but I don’t think she is a racist for wearing her hair in braids. If that’s the case, then all black and white women who wear Indian hair extensions and weaves must be racist towards Indians for wearing their thick, long hair.

  • Sunnyvle

What about when black women wear Indian hair for their weaves and extensions? Doe that mean they are appropriating Indian culture? Because that hair from India is meant as a sacrifice for the Indian gods. Its not meant for spoiled black and white girls like Amandla and that Jenner girl. I bet Amandla herself has worn Indian hair weaves or extensions. If she is calling that Jenner girl a racist just because she wore her hair in braids, then Amandla is a racist for wearing Indian hair when its not hers and its not meant for her at all.
Same with that dumb Zendaya girl. I doubt that long hair ,straight, thick hair she has is all hers. It probably came from some Indian woman or child who gave their hair for a sacrificial practice back in India.
Hey Zendya and Amandla, stop wearing Indian hair weaves and extensions then because you are appropriating Indian culture! I bet those dumb girls have no idea where that hair even comes from. They are just as stupid and uniformed as the Jenner girl then.

  • Sophie

They aren’t silent ass wipes they live it everyday when they are pulled over for riding while being black etc.

  • Sophie

Of course Justin would defend her. As if he has an relevance today in music he is just a cut up and thinks he’s a black man as well.

  • Qwill1

There’s a reason dumb people like you should stay out of conversations like this, you dont and cant even tell the difference between appropriation, and assimilating, which is what Blacks have been pushed to do over 100′s of years. Go look up the difference before you respond, before you make an ass of yourself again.

  • Sunnyvle

No its not being dumb. It the double standereds you PC idiots have. Why is it not okay for someone to wear cornrows because they are only ‘meant’ for the black community, but meanwhile black women wear hair extensions and weaves made from Indian hair? Are you not aware of the fact that it comes from a bad market through exploitation?
You guys are not assimilating anything. You are appropriating Indian culture when you wear their hair but do not acknowledge or will not admit that the hair comes from a sacrificial practice in India meant for their gods.
Amandla and Zendaya are immature young girls who have no clue what being racist is.

  • Chrissy

So black women shouldn’t have extensions, bobs, any hairstyle that looks white? Come on, people are getting ridiculous…every woman should be allowed to wear their hair however they want…
