Nicki Minaj Calls Out Miley Cyrus Again: 'You Can't Want the Good Without the Bad'

Nicki Minaj is all about color on the cover of New York Times‘ magazine.

Here’s what the 32-year-old rapper had to share with the mag:

On calling out Miley Cyrus at the VMAs, and still being bothered by it: “The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls. You’re in videos with black men, and you’re bringing out black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how black women feel about something that’s so important? Come on, you can’t want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.”

On calling out her interviewer for asking if she liked the Meek Mill/Drake drama: “That’s the typical thing that women do. What did you putting me down right there do for you? Women blame women for things that have nothing to do with them. I really want to know why — as a matter of fact, I don’t. Can we move on, do you have anything else to ask? To put down a woman for something that men do, as if they’re children and I’m responsible, has nothing to do with you asking stupid questions, because you know that’s not just a stupid question. That’s a premeditated thing you just did.”

On her abusive father: “I would always hear him yelling and cursing, always. And it made me feel it was the way to interact, because that’s how I saw him interacting. When I was younger, I thought that the only reason my mother didn’t leave my father was for financial reasons. From early on in my life, I looked at a woman not having her money as the biggest curse. Now that I’m an adult, I realize that women stay whether a man’s rich or poor. It’s just a weakness.”

Smart lady! I wish more woman were this smart, as for Miley , she just isn’t there yet, she still needs time to grow up,.,.,.,

  • Jade

I’m with Nicki on this one.

Ur comment make no sense at all.

I agree with what she said, but the problem is, she doesn’t really mean it. She never stood up for black women before, she even has songs, with some black girls being called “nappy headed hoes” in them. She appropriate other cultures, approves nazi symbols in her videos, etc. The whole feud started with Nicki asking why didn’t she get nominations, when her Anaconda video was just as iconic as Miley’s video. That’s valid. At the same time she was raising her voice for her own benefit, not for black women in general. She just went with the flow, when people made it about race, started to praise her and taking her side against Taylor and Miley. She capitalized on peoples perspective on the feud.

I hate Miley and Nicki equally, so hopefully they both take a short walk off a long cliff in the very near future.

add Taylor Swift to that list and I completely agree with u.

Women are most likely to be murdered when they leave, that’s very important to remember, it doesn’t make them weak, they aren’t the one’s doing anything wrong

miley is just a white racist this because she was raised by white racists in southern california.

  • nohemie mawaka

Well said Nicki, using your platform to speak on behalf of many who can’t. The reality is, many whites can hardly relate to how it feels to endure years of persecution and discrimination, due to century of colonial practices that are still perpetrated until this day in a different form, but the racial power dynamics still remains. I applaud Miley for including black culture in her art, but I agree with Nicki Minaj calling out the VMAs for having an unequal distribution of nominations when in reality black culture and artists are the most sold out in today’s industry. Yet, when a white female collaborates with black artists (Miley), she gets all the praise.

    Well said!

Stop lying nicki, you dont care about black coulture you only care about winning because your narcissistic.

  • Conte435

More like Rihanna and Beyoncé dumb as rocks over sexualized clowns pretending to be artists.

Taylor Swift the only decent person in this industry.

  • Arx

Yet Taylor has fucked every famous guy out there… Not only that, but Beyonce and Rihanna can actually sing.
