Beyonce Writes Call to Action Following Police Shootings

Beyonce has written an open letter on her website urging her fans to take action against the shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police officers.

“We are sick and tired of the killings of young men and women in our communities. It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us.’ We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives,” Bey wrote in her call to action.

“This is not a plea to all police officers but toward any human being who fails to value life. The war on people of color and all minorities needs to be over,” she added.

Celebrities are outraged over the two shootings that have happened in the past two days, both of which were captured on video and spread online.

We are sick and tired of the killings of young men and women in our communities.

It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they “stop killing us.”

We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives.

We’re going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or any violent action by those who are sworn to protect us should consistently go unpunished.

These robberies of lives make us feel helpless and hopeless but we have to believe that we are fighting for the rights of the next generation, for the next young men and women who believe in good.

This is a human right. No matter your race, gender or sexual orientation. This is a fight for anyone who feels marginalized, who is struggling for freedom and human rights.

This is not a plea to all police officers but toward any human being who fails to value life. The war on people of color and all minorities needs to be over.

Fear is not an excuse. Hate will not win.

We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes.

While we pray for the families of Alton Sterling and Philander Castile, we will also pray for an end to this plague of injustice in our communities.

We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes.

I’m so glad that she’s actually starting to use her platform for what she actually believes instead of appeasing people.

writing essays (if that is what you want to call this) isn’t cutting it sweetie.. try harder try doing things for the community since you have the means & voice to instill real change in the AA community.. stop talking about it & do something. Try helping your community out of poverty so they don’t feel they need to be committing crimes.

She didn’t write this her pr did! Being ghetto and braiding your hair doesn’t equate to political change or social justice… Just sing and dance monkey… The white populous will desert you if you don’t.

Dylan Noble, 19, was gunned down by cops in Fresno, California, on June 24 no police arrested or suspended from duty.

Had no criminal record and a unarmed teen .. Oh but he was white so not a peep from the national media or all these dumb celebrities or JJ making his death headline news.. Guess no race angle to exploit.

If only Dylan was a child molester and had illegal gun and had resisted arrest or had criminal record and gun on him.. Then the media would make his death national news.
And are the media calling the second cop shooting a white Chinese yet, like with Martin case.

Beyoncé if you want to not have ” your people gunned down ” then maybe put some of that money you exploit from then into educating them to be law abiding citizens.
When your 10 times your population numbers assailants for every crime committed in America .. murder, rape, robbery, assaults gangs South side Chicago alone last weekend had 60 shooting … then they wouldn’t be in position to constantly confronted by cops good or bad ones.

Neither of those men died while committing crimes. They died for being black.
