Justin Bieber Came Up With the 'Despacito (Remix)' Idea
Did you know that the hit song “Despacito (Remix)” was Justin Bieber‘s idea?
The 23-year-old singer was the one who contacted Luis Fonsi to put together the remake of the track, featuring Daddy Yankee.
It’s a good thing, too, because it was an instant success! In fact, it’s the first Spanish-language song to make it into the top 10 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 list in 20 years.
“The reality is that the song, thank God, is already a global hit,” Luis told Yahoo. “What Justin Bieber does now is take it to an Anglo-Saxon market. He was the one who initiated it. He was on tour in Colombia when he heard the song in a club. He saw how people reacted and told his manager he wanted to record the song.”
“[Justin] recorded it and decided to sing in Spanish on his own, and I think it’s incredible,” Luis added.
