Naya Rivera's Fans Are Organizing a Candlelight Vigil at Lake Piru

Naya Rivera‘s fans are doing something to honor the memory of the beloved actress and singer.

On August 1, the late Glee actress’ fans will be gathering at Lake Piru in Southern California for a candlelight vigil to celebrate her life.

The Naya Rivera Army on Twitter tweeted, “It’s a little far away mostly to give people that are traveling, time to take off work and be able to be a part of this. Time is at 5 since it gets hot but doesn’t mean you can’t be there before. I hope many of you can make it! Share it to those you think might want to go!”

Naya went missing on July 8 while swimming in Lake Piru with her four-year-old son Josey. Investigators believe that their boat drifted away in the lake’s currents and Naya used all of her energy to get Josey back on the boat, but wasn’t able to muster enough energy to save herself. Her body was discovered on July 13 and the official cause of death was revealed to be drowning.

The vigil will happen on Saturday, August 1 at 5pm at 4780 Piru Canyon Rd on Piru, Calif. If you attend the vigil, please make sure to wear a mask.
