Josh Duggar Requests to Be Released on Bond to Return to Wife & Kids

Josh Duggar‘s lawyers filed a motion request he be released on bond amid his child pornography charges.

If you don’t know, the 33-year-old former 19 Kids & Counting reality star was charged with two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography and if convicted, faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines for each count.

He is scheduled to appear at a hearing today.

New court documents state, “Duggar … has no criminal convictions and has known about this federal criminal investigation since November 2019 when Homeland Security Investigations (‘HSI’) executed a search of Duggar’s prior workplace,” the documents read (via Us Weekly).

“Duggar has maintained an open dialogue with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in connection with this investigation” and “complied precisely as directed,” the document continued, adding that “Duggar is neither a risk of flight nor a danger to the community”

The documents concluded asking if the judge would “permit him to return home to his immediate family.”

Duggar married his wife Anna, 32, in 2008 and they share Mackynzie, 11, Michael, 9, Marcus, 7, Meredith, 5, Mason, 3, and Maryella, 17 months.
