Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy have reunited!

The two actresses, who starred in 1985′s The Breakfast Club together, met up over the weekend for a dinner and shared a sweet pic with fans on Instagram.

Don’t expect a remake of The Breakfast Club to ever happen.

Ally Sheedy, who played Allison Reynolds, weighed in a potential remake of the 1985 cult classic directed by John Hughes saying that a new version would never work in today’s time.

“There’s no way there could be a remake because John Hughes just didn’t want that to happen so there isn’t,” Ally shared with Digital Spy. “It would be a completely different film, there’s no way to remake it today. I really don’t think so.”

Ally went on to explain that the issues teenagers are facing today are much different compared to the students in the 1980s.

“If you’re going to make a film about high school today, you have to talk about the issues today,” Ally explained. “Breakfast Club is a bunch of white kids sitting in a suburban classroom going through what was important to John Hughes at that time in the ’80s, it’s not the same world anymore.”

Ally starred in The Breakfast Club alongside Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, and Judd Nelson.

The new show uses the music from Alanis‘ album of the same name, plus some of her other songs, to tell a new and original story. She was joined at the event by husband Mario Treadway, as well as the show’s director Diane Paulus, book writer Diablo Cody, choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and her music co-writer Glen Ballard.

Lots of celebs stepped out to check out the opening night performance, including Sara Bareilles and her longtime boyfriend Joe Tippett.

Also in attendance were David Foster, Rosie O’Donnell and friend Ally Sheedy, singer Sarah McLachlan, theater owner Jordan Roth, The Politican‘s Laura Dreyfuss, and Broadway stars Ashley Park, LaChanze, and Laura Osnes with husband Nathan Johnson.

LaChanze‘s daughter Celia Rose Gooding is one of the leads in the show!

Jagged Little Pill is now open on Broadway, so go get your tickets.

Molly Ringwald dons a little white dress while attending the 30th anniversary of her hit film The Breakfast Club during the 2015 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival held at the Paramount Theatre on Monday (March 16) in Austin, Texas.

The 47-year-old actress was joined by her former co-star Ally Sheedy.

Molly and Ally are just two of the original five Shermer High breakfasters, which included Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, and Emilio Estevez.
