'Bachelorette' Tayshia Adams' Ex-Husband Speaks About Their Divorce & Cheating

Tayshia Adams‘ ex-husband Josh Bourelle is speaking out.

The former husband of the current Bachelorette star spoke out on the Reality Steve podcast.

During a recent episode, Tayshia confronted one of the remaining suitors, Zac Clark, after he admitted to cheating in the past in a lie detector test.

“Essentially, that was like the main reason why my marriage ended. I will not date a cheater,” she said. Her ex-husband is now speaking out.

“While she was on The Bachelor, she did bring up the fact that the reason why our relationship failed, in her opinion, was that I had cheated. When that first happened, I said, Well, ok, I guess it’s fine for her to say it one time, but now it just continues to happen,” he said.

“Really, the only perception of me from the audience is that I am the guy who cheated on Tayshia. So, I mean, I feel like that’s a slight injustice to me because there was a lot more to it than that,” he continued.

“It’s been a slight mar to my reputation, because honestly I don’t think there needs to be a negative connotation about our relationship in the past,” he said.

“I was not happy with our relationship. I wasn’t in a place where I was actually happy and what I look for in a relationship is a partner and I didn’t feel like I had a partner. I also look for somebody that I want to raise kids with and honestly, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to raise kids with her.”

He also said intimacy was “seriously lacking in our relationship,” clarifying that his cheating was a “single occurrence” that happened while she was out of town on a trip.

“Eventually, because I did what I did, she wanted to put forth an effort and she did put forth an effort.”

While they attempted to go to therapy to mend the relationship, they ultimately split.

He also felt that she wasn’t putting in the same amount of effort in her work: “I didn’t really feel that reciprocated on her end in any way.”

“I figured we had a mutual respect that we wanted the best for each other after the divorce. Now, her going out and saying that I cheated on her and that was the reason for our divorce on national TV, I felt like kind of crossed the line on that a little bit because I feel like she was using that as her sob story to make her look better and it was hurtful to me because it wasn’t just me that heard about that,” he said.

“I had to do a lot of explaining after that was said. It’s not something I really even want to talk about…we’re humans. She made just as many mistakes, maybe even more mistakes than I did over the course of our relationship, and it would be refreshing for her to actually own up to that a little bit,” he added.

“I think she could have went just as far as she’s at right now without saying that…What do you know these people for like two, three weeks—a month?” he added.

He also said that she did text him to apologize and stressed that his privacy was important after fans thought he was going to appear on the show.

“If she really is happy, then that’s great and if she really is happy, she shouldn’t involve me in this show in any way. She should just leave me out of the whole entire thing and dragging me in by saying that the reason for her past relationship’s failure was infidelity and other things that basically didn’t have to do with her—it’s a misrepresentation of her character.”

The married Bachelorette couple opened up about their bicoastal living situation in an interview on Dr. Abs Healthcast podcast.

“I didn’t move to L.A. because I just love the city. You’re focusing on your practice and building it to a place you want it to be, and I am here in L.A. working for Extra and doing other things, and we’re doing this to eventually bring ourselves together,” Rachel said to her husband on the podcast.

“We know where we’re going, we know where we’re headed, and we know what we’re trying to build as Abasolos,” she continued.

“I can see from the outside looking in how it’s like, ‘Wow, when Rachel was on the show she talked about not wanting to put her career over her husband.’ But the thing is, I’m not putting my career over my husband. I’m putting my family first. Part of that is putting us in a position to succeed and put our family in the best position.”

“For me, I want you to go do your thing in L.A., I want you to be as successful as possible. You’re killing it right now, and I love it,” Bryan added.

During the podcast, she revealed that she wants the “man of my dreams to see the worst of me.”

“I had just gone through a really, really abusive relationship going into Juan Pablo‘s season,” she admitted.

“I want the man of my dreams to see the worst of me, to know the worst of me. Not to have maybe compassion or anything like that, but to maybe see it’s not always easy and confident and strong and empowered,” she continued.

“There’s a lot that I went through that I want them to know the hard, ugly, embarrassing struggles of my life to appreciate the woman that I am today, and I want a man to love me for that, and not just for the easy makeup and hair…anybody can love you for the easy fun times and the smiles and the laughs.”

“I want somebody to love me for all the hard stuff that I’ve been through. It’s been something that I’ve hidden for so many years, but until I’ve owned that part of my life and looked at the stuff I’ve been through as shame, but to look at it as my superpower, and these are the things that have made the woman that I am today.”
