'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Will Get Official Podcast Ahead of Season 7 Premiere

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is getting an official podcast!

The NBC show will launch a six-part series that will explore the on- and off-screen history of the series and will be available Monday, February 3, IndieWire reports.

Each of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Podcast episodes will be dedicated to a previous season of the show, and feature interviews with co-creator Dan Goor and many of the main cast members.

The first episode will center on the casting process and reveal just who passed on roles on the show.

The new season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres Thursday, February 6 on NBC.

The long-running series will return for an eighth season on NBC, Variety confirmed on Thursday (November 14).

Season 7 of the comedy series isn’t even premiering until February 6, 2020, but the network already ordered another season of the show!

The show was canceled by FOX in 2018, and brought over to NBC for Season 6, and found itself up 15% in total viewership versus the prior season. According to NBC, the show grew to a 3.1 rating in 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall.

'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Is Being Renewed by NBC for Season 7!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is coming back for more!

The popular series, which started off at FOX before being picked up at NBC, will return for a second season at their new home and seventh overall, the network confirmed on Wednesday (February 27).

“It’s been one of our great joys as a network to give Brooklyn Nine-Nine a second life,” NBC execs Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta said in a statement.

The cast found out about the renewal during a table read for an upcoming episode on the same day.

“It’s official, squad! Lemme hear you yell SEVEN-SEVEN! #Brooklyn99,” the show announced on their social media. Watch the fun announcement below!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is winning!

The series, which was originally canceled by FOX after five seasons before being picked up by NBC for Season 6, delivered its highest ratings in two years with the first episode of the new season, according to EW.

The premiere had a viewership of 3.6 million viewers, up 71% from its fifth season premiere in 2017.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, a well-documented fan of the series who campaigned for the show’s renewal among other stars, celebrated the news with a funny tweet on Friday (January 11).

The cast opened up about the show’s move from Fox to NBC for the upcoming sixth season.

Andy chatted about how Fox and Fox News are both under the same umbrella.

“All I know is there are different factions of Fox,” he told THR. “Fox, the people we dealt with there, I truly believe really loved and supported the show. I don’t know what they would say publicly about the Fox News wing of Fox.”

Chelsea jokingly added, “Fox News is so good, that’s the hardest part about leaving.”

Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Andy Samberg, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero and Andre Braugher were seen arriving for the NBCUniversal Upfront campaign event held at Radio City Music Hall on Monday (May 14) in New York City.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was saved by NBC after being canceled earlier in the week by Fox.
