The Dirty Dancing remake stays true to the original movie from 1987.
“For the most part it really does stay true to the original and all the things that people loved about the first one,” Abigail Breslin told E! News. “We’re adding something to it,” Colt Prattes added. Colt and Abigail play the roles made famous by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze in the original movie.
“The thing that was exciting to me was you find out what happens to Baby and Johnny years later,” Debra Messing, who plays Baby‘s mom, added. Baby and Johnny’s fate together was never addressed in the original film.
Also starring in the upcoming made for television movie are Sarah Hyland as Lisa Houseman, Katey Sagal as Vivian Pressman, Nicole Scherzinger as Penny Rivera, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Jake Houseman, Billy Dee Williams as Tito, Shane Harper as Robbie Gould, Trevor Einhorn as Neil Kellerman, Casper Smart as Billy Kotsecki, and J. Quinton Johnson as Marco.
The remake is set to air tonight on ABC – be sure to tune in!
