Idina Menzel is one of the many stars whose shows have been affected by the Omicron variant during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Tony-winning actress was starring in the new musical Wild at the American Repertory Theater in Boston, Mass. Unfortunately, the production closed earlier because of positive cases in the cast and crew.
Idina, the cast, and the crew were thankfully able to celebrate the opening night on December 9 and we have photos from the event. She was joined by Tony-winning playwright V (formerly Eve Ensler) and songwriter and producer Justin Tranter.
Justin wrote the music with songwriter Caroline Pennell. The musical was directed by Tony-winning director Diane Paulus.
Wild starred Idina as a single mother struggling to hold on to her family farm and connect with her teenage daughter (played by YDE) while trying to survive in a world facing mass extinction.
Hopefully we’ll get to see more of Wild in the future!
