Lena Dunham Praises 'Glamour' For Including Her Cellulite on Cover

Lena Dunham is thanking Glamour magazine for including her cellulite on the cover of her upcoming issue.

The 30-year-old Girls star took to her Instagram to pen a lengthy note about her appearance and the public’s perception of her looks.

“Okay, here goes: throughout my teens I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I was f**king funny looking. Potbelly, rabbit teeth, knock knees- I could never seem to get it right and it haunted my every move. I posed as the sassy confident one, secretly horrified and hurt by careless comments and hostility,” she began.

Lena added, “Let’s get something straight: I didn’t hate what I looked like- I hated the culture that was telling me to hate it. When my career started, some people celebrated my look but always through the lens of ‘Isn’t she brave? Isn’t it such a bold move to show THAT body on TV?’”

“Then there were the legions of trolls who made high school teasing look like a damned joke with the violent threats they heaped on, the sickening insults that made me ache for teen girls like me who might be reading my comments. Well, today this body is on the cover of a magazine that millions of women will read, without photoshop, my thigh on full imperfect display,” she wrote.

Lena Dunham Reveals Jemima Kirke Tried to Quit 'Girls'

Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet, Allison Williams, and Jemima Kirke are featured on Glamour magazine’s February 2017 issue – their very first cover together!

Here’s what the Girls stars had to share:

Lena, on Jemima wanting to quit the show: “I think it’s time for us to disclose to the world that, like, three days before season two, Jemima tried to quit. [Laughter.] … I remember being in a cab. And Jemima called me. She was like, ‘I have to tell you something. It’s not a big deal. I don’t want you to freak out. I want to quit the show.’”

Allison, on her biggest complaint about the job: “I started playing one person, then she evolved so much. I got to exercise all kinds of muscles. The least satisfying? I always wanted to be in the show more. [Laughter.] That was my M.O. every year. I wanted to be a piece of furniture in Hannah’s apartment, if that’s what it took.”

Lena, on what she would change about her experience on Girls: “Making my deal with HBO as a 23-year-old woman, I felt that I had so much to prove. I felt like I had to be the person who answered emails the fastest, stayed up the latest, worked the hardest. As much as I loved my job, I really, like, injured myself in some ways. If I had felt like, ‘You’re worthy of eight hours of sleep, not four; you’re worthy of turning your phone off on a Saturday,’ I don’t think it would have changed the outcome of the show. [But] I could have worked with a sense of joy and excitement, rather than guilt and anxiety of being ‘found out.’ The advice I would give any woman going into a job if she has a sense of impostor syndrome would be: There will be nothing if you don’t look out for you. And I can’t wait, on my next project, to go into it with the strength that comes from, like, valuing your own body and your own mental health. Jenni’s like, ‘We’ll believe it when we see it.’”

FYI: All four women are wearing Marc Jacobs clothing and platforms on the cover.

Lena Dunham: 'I Still Haven't Had an Abortion, But I Wish I Had'

Lena Dunham is receiving heat for her comments she made about abortion on her podcast “Women of the Hour.”

“Something I’ve thought about a lot is the fact that there is stigma around abortion,” the 30-year-old actress said. She then talked abut visiting a Planned Parenthood in Texas where women were sharing their abortion stories.

“I sort of jumped. ‘I haven’t had an abortion,’ I told her. I wanted to make it really clear to her that as much as I was going out and fighting for other women’s options, I myself had never had an abortion. Even I, the woman who cares as much as anybody about a woman’s right to choose, felt it was important that people know I was unblemished in this department,” Lena continued.

“Now I can say that I still haven’t had an abortion, but I wish I had,” she added.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the comments. Click inside to read more… More Here! »

Lena Dunham is Proud 'Girls' Didn't Use Success For Free Stuff

Lena Dunham cozies up to her Girls co-stars Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet in this new feature for Vogue magazine.

Here’s what the cast and others had to share with the mag:

Lena on how the show changed changed television for good: “When I had my first meeting with HBO and they said, ‘What do you want to do?’ I said, ‘I don’t see anyone who’s like me or anyone I love on television,’ And now—I’m not saying we started it, because I think we’re living in this Zeitgeisty movement toward it—but between Amy Schumer, Broad City, Mindy Kaling, that has changed.”

Abbi Jacobson on Girls: “Lena was one of the first in a wave of creators writing and starring in their own material.”

Lena on her co-stars: “Something I’m really proud of is I look at this show, and we all started when we were between 22 and 25. It would have been very easy for all of us to go, ‘Yeah, we’re just going to fashion shows and taking free trips to St. Barth’s,’ but these women have made a really strong commitment to use their platform for something powerful. No one has used this new attention just to acquire handbags.”
