There’s new casting information about Pacific Rim!

In the 2013 film, directed by Guillermo Del Toro, as a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse.

It was just revealed that another actor was ideally the top choice to play the role of Marshal Stacker Pentecost in Pacific Rim, but a deal couldn’t be made, so Idris Elba was cast instead.

Charlie Day starred in the original Pacific Rim movie in 2013 and he reprised his role for the sequel Pacific Rim Uprising.

Now, the 46-year-old actor is discussing why he was “disappointed” while heading into production on the sequel.

John Boyega and Scott Eastwood‘s Pacific Rim: Uprising came in first place at the weekend box office, dethroning Black Panther in its sixth week at the box office.

Pacific Rim: Uprising brought in $28 million in its opening weekend debut. Black Panther earned $16.6 million, claiming the second place spot. Black Panther has earned so much success in the six weeks since it opened in theaters.

Rounding out the top five were I Can Only Imagine, Sherlock Gnomes, and Tomb Raider, which each earned $13.8 million, $10.6 million, and $10.4 million, respectively.

Pacific Rim: Uprising, the sequel in the fan favorite franchise, is hitting theaters in just a few hours and fans are going to want to stay in their seats when the film ends.

We’ve heard that just as the movie ends, there is an additional scene. There’s nothing at the very end of the credits, though.

The new movie stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Charlie Day, Tian Jing, and many more.

If you’re looking for a familiar face in the new film, Charlie Hunnam is unfortunately not in this film. Charlie did star in the first movie.

Pacific Rim Uprising just got a cool new official trailer!

The upcoming sequel to 2013′s Pacific Rim stars John Boyega, who is prominently featured in the trailer release on Friday (October 6).

Here’s a synopsis: the globe-spanning conflict between otherworldly monsters of mass destruction and the human-piloted super-machines built to vanquish them was only a prelude to the all-out assault on humanity in Pacific Rim Uprising.

The movie also stars Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Karan Brar and Rahart Adams.

The Steven S. DeKnight-directed movie hits theaters on March 23, 2018.

Pacific Rim Uprising just got a cool new official poster!

The upcoming sequel to 2013′s Pacific Rim stars John Boyega, who is featured on the new poster revealed on Tuesday (September 26).

Scott Eastwood, Burn Gorman and Cailee Spaeny also co-star in Pacific Rim Uprising, which is directed by Steven S. DeKnight. The movie will hit theaters on March 23, 2018.

The film’s cast and crew will hold a panel at this year’s New York Comic Con on October 6 at 12 PM EST at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which will be broadcasted live.
