While most people who make it far on American Idol are having the time of their lives, others have decided to leave the show in the middle of the competition for various reasons.

One singer said recently said she was quitting as she wanted to go home to her kids and she didn’t think she was going to win anyways. Another singer said she didn’t think she was able to give 100 percent, so she decided to just leave the show.

There are 11 other former contestants who have quit the show or were removed by producers, including one that made it all the way to the final five.

Wyatt Pike has dropped a new original song following his mysterious exit from American Idol last week.

The 20-year-old singer from Park City, Utah was part of the current season’s Top 16 contestants and he was considered to be a frontrunner to win the whole thing. Then, host Ryan Seacrest made the mysterious announcement that Wyatt dropped out of the show.

Wyatt broke his silence about his exit just a few days ago and judge Luke Bryan‘s wife just responded to a crazy rumor that is spreading around about the reason why he left.

Now, Wyatt has released his original song “Friday Nights” on all streaming platforms.

“As promised, here’s a video of my tune ‘Friday Nights’! I had fun filming this for you yesterday, hope you enjoy! ‘Friday Nights’ is available on all streaming platforms! 🎧💙,” he wrote on Instagram.

Wyatt Pike, a frontrunner on the current season of American Idol, abruptly dropped out of the competition last week and there have been some rumors spreading about why he left the show.

Wyatt Pike is opening up for the first time since shocking fans by leaving American Idol.

The 20-year-old singer updated fans with a post on Wednesday (April 14) to his Instagram.

“I had to leave the @AmericanIdol competition for personal reasons but am so thankful I get to play music for the rest of my life. Fellow contestants – miss you all, good luck! Thank you to everyone for your support… do stick around for more musical things soon! 💙” he wrote on Instagram.

“You are so special Wyatt – JUST THE BEGINNING BABY!!!! Can’t wait to see you soon. You are A GEM in every since [sp] of the word,” wrote finalist Madison Watkins.

“wish you the best of luck in everything you do,” added contestant Alanis Sophia.

Wyatt was a contestant in the Top 16 of American Idol‘s current season, and unexpectedly dropped out of the show. The news was announced by host Ryan Seacrest at the start of an episode, during which the Top 12 singers were revealed.

“Before we get to the results, I have to tell you that finalist Wyatt Pike will not be competing in the competition. He had to drop out, but we wish him the very best,” Ryan said. No other details were revealed during the show at that time.

Wyatt never officially made the Top 12, as incorrectly reported elsewhere. He performed as part of the Top 16, but they announced his departure before they announced the Top 12.
