'Transformers: Age of Extinction' Breaks $100 Million at First Weekend Box Office!

Transformers: Age of Extinction opened to the biggest numbers this year so far with a $100 million box office debut!

According to THR, the fourth installment, starring Mark Wahlberg, did well overseas too, taking in $201.3 million for a worldwide bow of $301.3 million!

22 Jump Street, starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, stayed strong at No. 2 with an additional $15.4 million, for a total gross of $139.8 million so far.

Coming in third was the animated family film How to Train Your Dragon 2, which wasn’t far behind with $13.1 million in its third weekend.

Rounding out the top five were Kevin Hart‘s Think Like a Man Too and Angelina Jolie‘s live-action fairy tale Maleficent, which took in $13.1 million and $10.4 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, at the specialty box office, Begin Again, starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, and Hailee Steinfeld, took in a solid $148,325 from five theaters in New York and Los Angeles for a location average of $29,665.
