Stephen Collins Suicide Reports Are False, LAPD Confirms

The LAPD paid a visit to actor Stephen Collins‘ home on Tuesday night (October 7) after there was a report of a single gunshot being heard inside.

The 67-year-old actor faced a difficult day after an audio tape was released in which he confesses to molesting young girls many years ago. He was later fired from the movie Ted 2, resigned from the SAG board and another charity, and 7th Heaven reruns were pulled off several networks.

Members of the media are camped outside of Stephen‘s home right now in California’s San Fernando Valley and someone reported a gunshot from inside the house. The LAPD responded, but said that there was no gunshot and that Stephen is “alive and well.” He is not at the home this evening though, according to TMZ.

“He’s not dead; he’s alive,” an LAPD spokesperson told People. “He was not at home at the time of the alleged incident, and there’s no evidence of any gun shot.”
