Jake Gyllenhaal Lost 'Nightcrawler' Weight with Kale Salad & Chewing Gum Diet

Jake Gyllenhaal stays serious while attending a special screening of his new movie Nightcrawler on Sunday (October 19) at the Crosby St Hotel in New York City.

The 33-year-old actor was joined by the film’s producer Tony Gilroy as well as Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac.

Jake recently opened up about how he shed 30 pounds for the role, including a strict diet of kale salad and chewing gum, along with running 15 miles a day.

“The running thing, you’re pretty hungry because you’re not eating a lot of food,” Jake told EW. “You’re lonely because you’re not meeting your friends for dinner. People go, ‘Hey you want to meet for dinner after work?’ I go, ‘Well, I’m shooting all night.’ ‘All right, you want to meet for lunch?’ I’m like, ‘I can’t!’ So I’m gonna go run.”
