LeAnn Rimes Apologizes for Tweet About Eric Garner Protests
LeAnn Rimes gives a peek of her sexy outfit while performing live at the 2014 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony held on Wednesday (December 3) in New York City.
The 32-year-old singer performed her song “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” which is featured on her new holiday album.
At the event, LeAnn tweeted about the protests happening nearby over the Eric Garner decision made that day. “Wow, riots are sad tonight coming out of a joyous place. #peaceatchristmas #prayersforall,” she wrote.
LeAnn later took to Twitter to apologize for her remarks: “My heart is in the right place. I am sad for everyone tonight. Those who are wronged, those who are struggling, those who are heartbroken. My heart is with you. I wish peace for all. I apologize if my understanding of the ny protests were taken in any other way. It was what was being relayed to me and reported.”
