Tom Hardy Drops Out of 'Suicide Squad' Movie, Jake Gyllenhaal Eyed As Replacement

Tom Hardy has just dropped out of the Suicide Squad movie comprised of a group of villains from the DC Entertainment world, THR reports.

The 37-year-old actor was set to play Rick Flagg, leader of the Suicide Squad. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne are all signed on to star in the film.

Jake Gyllenhaal is being eyed as Tom’s potential replacement, The Wrap reports.

The movie was set to center around Batman villains Deadshot (Smith), Joker (Leto), and Harley Quinn (Robbie), with Boomerang (Courtney) and Enchantress (Delevigne).

The reasons behind his exit is reportedly because The Revenant is going over schedule and by the time he is done shooting he will need to promote Mad Max: Fury Road.
