Lindsay Lohan's Community Service in Question After She Credits Meeting Fans as Hours

Lindsay Lohan‘s community service hours were brought into question on Wednesday (January 28) in a California court.

Some of the hours the 28-year-old actress received credit for, prosecutors allege, are for a meet and greet for her show Speed-the-Plow.

“She got to shake hands with people, and that’s community service,” Santa Monica Chief Deputy City Attorney Terry White said (via an NBC affiliate). “I’d love to hang out with a celebrity all day and see their life, but that’s not community service.”

“If this was Lindsey Smith, nobody would allow this,” he added. Lindsay also gave credit for a “work shadowing experience” with two people, which Terry said was fans “basically hanging out with her.”

Lindsay‘s attorney said a “true level of community service has been performed by Ms. Lohan.”

The community service hours are being completed because of a 2012 car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway which involved reckless driving and lying to police.
