Mariah Carey Joins 'The Lego Batman Movie' Voice Cast

Mariah Carey has joined the voice cast of the upcoming animated film The Lego Batman Movie and she’s playing a character you probably would not have expected.

The 45-year-old singer will be voicing the role of Commissioner Gordon, according to Deadline. No word yet if the character will be female in the film or if she’s voicing a male role.

The character has previously been played in live-action projects by Gary Oldman in the Dark Knight trilogy and Ben McKenzie on Fox’s Gotham series.

Other stars already lined up for The Lego Batman Movie are Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred the Butler.

UPDATE: THR is reporting that Mariah will play the mayor of Gotham, not Gordon.
