Maurice White Dead - Earth, Wind, & Fire Founder Dies at 74
Maurice White, one of the founding members of the legendary group Earth, Wind, & Fire, has died at age 74.
The singer passed away in his sleep on Thursday morning (February 4) in Los Angeles.
Maurice has been battling Parkinson’s disease since 1992 and his condition has worsened recently, according to TMZ. He stopped touring with the group in 1994 as the disease progressed.
In recent years, Maurice still was involved in the decisions for the band even though he hasn’t been performing with them. Earth, Wind, and Fire was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and they are also known for being the first African-American act to sell out the famous Madison Square Garden.
We send our thoughts and condolences to Maurice‘s family and friends during this difficult time.
