Danielle Brooks & Sara Bareilles Honored at More/Shape Women’s Half-Marathon

Danielle Brooks crosses the finish line during the More/Shape Women’s Half-Marathon on Sunday morning (April 17) in New York City.

The 26-year-old Orange is the New Black star was honored as part of the Women Run the World Relay and Mentorship Program alongside singer Sara Bareilles at the event.

Each celebrity was paired with a mentee from NYRR’s Run for the Future Program benefiting New York City high school girls to run or walk one mile of the 13.1-mile race.

“I loved being a part of an all-female race. There were cheers from not only the sidelines, but from runners themselves, encouraging each other along the way, and I thought that was really special. It was an inspired morning,” Sara said.
