John Mayer Says He Searches Himself Online Using Instagram Hashtags!

John Mayer is sharing a secret about his social media habits!

The 39-year-old singer singer recently let fans know he likes to search for himself on Instagram via hashtags.

“I get the most flattered and moved when I look at Instagram hashtags,” John said during a recent Facebook Live broadcast, which he held to discuss details about his upcoming album. “I feel like that’s a kinder, gentler Internet.”

John also revealed the story behind his Snapchat name, johnthekangaroo.

“I was working in the studio with somebody and they had guitar picks that had ‘John the Kangaroo,’” he said. “It’s from a misheard Muddy Waters lyric. I thought it was great.”
