Kate Spade's Family Releases Statement After Tragic Death

Kate Spade‘s family has released a statement after her apparent suicide at the age of 55.

The famed designer was found on Tuesday (June 5) at her Park Avenue home in Manhattan, where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her family spoke with the New York Daily News, and asked for privacy during this time.

“We are all devastated by today’s tragedy. We loved Kate dearly and will miss her terribly. We would ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve during this very difficult time,” the family said in statement.

Kate is survived by her husband, Andy Spade, 13-year-old daughter Frances, and other loved ones.
