Diane Kruger's Love Scene Partner in 'Welcome to Marwen' Was A Tennis Ball!

Diane Kruger hit Stephen Colbert‘s couch on The Late Show on Thursday (December 13) and talked about getting the full Avatar treatment for her upcoming role in Welcome to Marwen, which required motion capture suits and acting alongside tennis balls.

“We’re performing on a green screen, which is great and terrifying all at once because there’s no other actors a lot of the time,” the 42-year-old actress explained.

“Most of my scenes are with a tennis ball and I was totally freaked out because, you know – how do I profess my undying love to a tennis ball?,” Diane continued. “And then, I realized, the tennis ball will always love me. That’s what I thought anyway, it can’t talk back.”
