Lin-Manuel Miranda Arrives in Puerto Rico to Launch 'Hamilton'
Lin-Manuel Miranda is all smiles while touching down at LMM Airport on Thursday (December 28) in Puerto Rico.
The 38-year-old Broadway and movie star went directly to a press conference to discuss the change in theater and dates for the PR run of Hamilton. A new theater was selected for security reasons.
Lin-Manuel, who was joined at the airport by his father Luis, is reprising his role in Hamilton for the first time since he left the Broadway cast in 2016.
“Our goal is to raise money for arts on the island so that the arts can recover as other sectors of Puerto Rico life recover. We’ll have 10,000 $10 tickets on the island via lottery that we’re just holding. Every Wednesday matinee is all $10,” Lin-Manuel recently said. “It makes me very emotional to talk about. I knew if Hamilton was going to get to go to Puerto Rico in any way shape or form, I’d want to experience that in the first person. I’d be too nervous sitting out in the house.”
