Mandy Moore Opens Up About 'Unhealthy' Marriage to Ryan Adams: 'I Was So Lonely'

Mandy Moore is sharing more about her marriage to ex-husband Ryan Adams amid allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

The 34-year-old This Is Us actress spoke out about their relationship just days before an explosive New York Times report made the accusations against Ryan.

“I was living my life for him. It [was] an entirely unhealthy dynamic. I had no sense of self…I felt like I was drowning. It was so untenable and unsustainable and it was so lonely. I was so sad. I was lonely with him,” Mandy said on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.

Mandy added that she didn’t work full time because she knew the marriage couldn’t “sustain itself” if she did.

“I would do little jobs — it’s not like I completely stopped working. But it would become abundantly clear while I was working, things would completely fall apart at home. I couldn’t do my job because there was a constant stream of trying to pay attention to this person who needed me and wouldn’t let me do anything else,” she explained.

In the podcast, Mandy added that she plans to release music with new husband Taylor Goldsmith, which Ryan had previously discouraged her from doing.
